Is it worth setting up an esaver account with Santander, so internal transfer of the full 2012/13 subscription could be made to the ISA on April 6th?0

The knowledge/intelligence shown by some BS/bank staff never ceases to amaze me.
My husband and myself have both used our TESSA/ISA limits since they were first started.
Some people don't realise how much that equates to.
Thank you Mr Major that starting them.0 -

I'm not sure you can transfer from the E Saver to the ISA.
See this thread... https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3870183
I've opened an E Saver, mainly so I can see my ISA online.0 -

But you arent making a change to the ISA, just transferring money in to it via another account (all be it an internal one).
Although on the online banking 'Transfer between my accounts' option I can select from the ISA to another account and vice versa so I dont see why the transfer from the Direct Saver to the ISA would fail to work.0 -

'Branch and telephone.
You will be able to view the account online. Please note, during the fixed term transactions are limited to full closure or full transfer out.'
But who knows - this is Santander!!0 -

But doing an online transfer to the account is no different than making a deposit at a branch surely.
The online transfer is not actually on the Santander ISA account itself, it is from the account where the money is coming from, ie another Santander current account or a different bank altogether.0 -

I noticed yesterday there are two strange transactions on 21st March:
First is indicated as 'ADJUSTMENT .VALUE DATE .CHEQUE PAID IN A BANKING CENTRE' Money out (all of it) leaving £0.00 balance.
Second (same date) 'CHEQUE PAID IN A BANKING CENTRE' Money in (all of it) leaving the same balance as at 19th.
I called Santander and had a really confusing conversation - something about an error - about cheque on 16th but showed as paid in on 19th but it wasn't mine until 21st so they made 'these adjustments' to make it right. Even after them going over it again it still made no sense. Their screen showed the 16th whereas mine doesn't. They are going to post me a statement which will show it. I thinkwhat it may mean is that adjustment is to backdate the interest to the 16th. I had to more or less suggest that to them though before they said that. Still not sure.
They said when I get the interest statement next year I can ask for detail of the calculation. I'll probably have forgotten by then :rotfl:
I had the same - see below:purplestar133 wrote: »I'm transferring from Halifax into the 2 year fixed rate with Santander (upgraded from Flexible ISA 4). Today there is an entry on my online statement that says something like 'cheque paid in at banking centre'. But then the money is taken out again and the entry says 'ADJUSTMENT .VALUE DATE .CHEQUE PAID IN AT BANKING CENTRE'. Then it is paid in again, then taken out again and finally paid in again. What is going on?! Has anyone else had similar entries on their statement?
Do you think I will be penalised in any way for the money going in and out three times without anything to do with me?!Siobhan789 wrote: »It's ok it happens with all transfers it's just them changing the interest dates & bk dating it,
It's normal don't worry
I am still worried though. Does everyone have the same transactions on their statement after transferring in?0
