I noticed yesterday there are two strange transactions on 21st March:
First is indicated as 'ADJUSTMENT .VALUE DATE .CHEQUE PAID IN A BANKING CENTRE' Money out (all of it) leaving £0.00 balance.
Second (same date) 'CHEQUE PAID IN A BANKING CENTRE' Money in (all of it) leaving the same balance as at 19th.
I called Santander and had a really confusing conversation - something about an error - about cheque on 16th but showed as paid in on 19th but it wasn't mine until 21st so they made 'these adjustments' to make it right. Even after them going over it again it still made no sense. Their screen showed the 16th whereas mine doesn't. They are going to post me a statement which will show it. I thinkwhat it may mean is that adjustment is to backdate the interest to the 16th. I had to more or less suggest that to them though before they said that. Still not sure.
They said when I get the interest statement next year I can ask for detail of the calculation. I'll probably have forgotten by then :rotfl:
Mine was the same when I logged in yesterday.
Oh well I thought, at least they put it back after taking it out.
My husband on the other hand...The first ID my husband sent to them for his opening, they said they didn't receive.
It took them almost two weeks to let him know that and be able to send again.
That's the only problem with the timescale.
My husband received a letter yesterday from Santander asking once again for ID or his application would expire. :rotfl:
Not so funny, when he rang them, they said they could see his account online but that there were no funds in it.
The funds left Barclays middle of last week.
Another visit to the branch, where he took the second lot of ID and finally, after much deliberation by the staff there, they said his ID was OK and they would now transfer the money from their holding account to my husbands account.
What can you do but laugh?0 -
The first banking day you can do a transfer is Tuesday 10th April.
Personally I will be doing a £10 transfer on 10th April and check it goes in, then the rest on the 11th April.
Is it possible to do 2 payments into the 2 year Santander ISA?
I thought it was one payment in and that is that. Would be gutted to have allowance locked at a tenner.0 -

From the Santander website:For accounts opened in the 2011/2012 tax year, additional deposits are allowed between 06 April 2012 and 14 April 2012 - which means you can also deposit your 2012/2013 cash ISA allowance.
Nothing about a single deposit, it says "deposits"0 -
I emailed Santander to ask if you could open the ISA for the 2012/13 tax year online on 6 Apr as it's Good Friday. They have replied saying you can open it on 5 Apr, I just can't see that being right. Anyone got any answers?!0

Should be ok, just don't pay any money in before April 6 2012. Alternatively, open it on April 6 online? Or pop into a Branch on April 7?0 -
What is the quickest you can get a 2012/12 ISA set with Santander from the 1st day of the new tax year? Cant set one up now .Not a Santander customer.0

That said, about three years ago, I was set to open a FRISA in LTSB. I printed the transfer form to transfer a tidy sum and thought I'd take it to my branch (I've been a LTSB customer nearly 40 years) and I handed it to the counter staff, who went away to ask about it. Several minutes later I got asked to go into an office. A bloke (in his 50s) looked at my form like he also didn't know what to do with it, questioning me why there was so much money. 'Most people have only about [half of what I was trying to transfer]'. Well I started to get annoyed that he thought I somehow saved more than I could have (as if HMRC would have allowed me to :rotfl:). I told him I had had ISAs since they first came out and a TESSA before that. He handed the form back to me and said send it, admitting he didn't know what to do with it!0
