you obviously havent read back, but i'll reply again, It was a half time raffle with a whole range of donated prizes. HIS ticket won, no-one elses - if it had been a joint prize I wouldn't say a word !

Sorry, i get that quite a lot on mse, a lot of posts don't seem to load when i refresh..buut more recent ones do! Very odd, and annoying for those giving information.

    No ... :D

He didn't give her the prize to her out of the goodness of his heart ... he was posing.

And if he likes posing to some 16 year old slapper whilst you are pregnant ... you should watch him a bit more closely.

OP, you do keep saying 'I'm just sad his first thought wasnt for his family'. Perhaps he feels by going out to work every day his first thought is always for his family. Is he inconsiderate in other ways too? Is this just the tip of the iceberg, or is he in other ways a good father and husband?

My very best friend once said to me (when I was having a moan about as yet unsolved row I'd had with oh and whether I was right or not) 'oh for gods sake BugglyB, do you still want to be with him? Well if you do you just have to go home, swallow your pride and make up'. In other words whats done is done, he absolutely can't take it back now. He knows how you feel so time to put it behind you.

on a side note I would never refer to my other half as 'stupid'

Same here, if in fact I didnt have 'big' purchases looming and hadnt given away things we now need ( to people more needy than us) and had suitable alternatives to use.

Its the bigger picture im stuck on, the initial gesture was selfless on his part and very generous, he just isnt in the position to be making them !

He could have even checked with me to see if its a better model than the one we have so we could have the new one and they could have our old one !? Thats kind, thoughtful and still putting his family first.

Its only been 3 hours, not as if I've dragged on a fight for the last few weeks about i t !

Nor would I ever call myself 'mean' - it was to show the extreme opposites of opinion !

The Ricky Gervais quote in your signature sums up your posts for me.

You might never call yourself 'mean'.

However, if you had taken possession of the washer-drier, and then tried to sell it to the other girl for 50 quid, or whatever, you would probably have been called 'mean' by other people.

Why be stupid enough to put yourself in that position?
