Hello
Just on phase 1 of the process, and today have recieved a bundle of bank statements going back 6 years. I was expecting a letter describing the amount I had been charged illegally over the last 6 years. Do I have to trawl through these statements and come up with the figure or are they supposed to give me the £number???
Help

Yes you have to go through your statements and work out what your charges are putting them into a spreadsheet with date, description and amount. Start by reading Martin's article and the previous posts here and the Reclaim Help Thread which is linked in my signature.0

a little help please if you can in template 2 it say send a list of charges does this mean send back the statements? also in the video martin say small claims court for claims up £5,000 what if i am owed more?0

Hi Robster....list of charges is basically that - a list in date order of all the charges you have incurred over the past 6 years.
You are fine claiming over £5000 - once you pass allocation stage in court you may be fasttracked rather than small claims, but really the banks are more scared of this than you or I should be.LegalBeagles0 -

Hi robster
You can indeed include card misuse and cheque return fees. Click on the following link to the help thread and go to post 4 for what can and can't be claimed.

Also, is it NatWest that you are claiming from??

You should make sure you have a list of charges otherwise you will find it difficult at the court stage in particular.
You need to follow the procedure in the Step by step guide in my signature to request this information from your bank.0 -
