You'll find the link to the Interest Calculator in Martin's article. You input each charge separately as a charge taken in 2001 incurs more interest than one taken in 2006.
Have a read of post 8 in this thread and the Reclaim Help Thread linked in my signature were you'll find a list of the charge you can claim.0 -

First of all you need to read Martin's article and read it all again. Have a look at the posts in this thread, and the Reclaim Help Thread which is linked in my signature.
You'll find all the templates in Martin's article and addresses you might need to send off for your statements in the first post of the Help Thread.

I know I must appear a little dim, but, I have just received the last 6 years statements and do not know how to work out what to claim. Can anyone help? I'm more than a little confused.

On each statement there should be a list of charges. You can claim for bounced direct debits, overlimit charges, but not interest charged.
I'd make a list of all the charges, either for each month or each year.On your letter, state that you wish to claim £xxxx charges and attach the itemised list to your No.2 letter & keep a copy.0 -
u can claim interest charges.... if u took them to court u can claim it infact also 8% on top of the charges
i asked my bank for it they didnt pay it but always ask for more then u expect to get i.e i didnt expect to get it but i asked!0 -

Bank: NatWest
Amount claimed: 237,00
Amount refunded: 237,00
It went to the first stage of the Online Money Claim order. NatWest paid up within a month of my initial letter sent to the bank...0 -
Aplogies if this has already been covered (which is likely, lol), but we have just decided to look into this.
We bank with Abbey, and have done since 1999, but we are living in the overdraft, we never get out of it, and I worry they will cancel the overdraft if we try to claim back charges. Does anyone know if this is likely?
Also, does anyone know the amount they charge for the bank statement copies? As when i request them i will enclose a cheque to save time.
I am off now to read how to go about doing all this, but just want to know about the overdraft businees before we start!
thanks all0 -
Shopaholic2; I to am with Abbey, and indeed have a vast overdraft. I'm at the court stages now and yet have not been aproached on this matter.
As long as u read Martins way of doing this and frequently browse the forums, u should be fine.
I wish u both all the best.;)0
