    Until you have made a court claim you aren't entitled to statutory interest.

    At this stage you just use the interest as leverage. Just refer to it as statutory interest. Don't give a total at this stage (or even in your LBA) as you don't know what it is yet.

    The 8% is worked out on the date range of the date the charge was made running through to the day you issue a claim at court.

    Whats LDA?

    So just send the second letter requesting the amount owed without interest and see what happens?

    Thanks again

    LBA = Letter Before Action

    Basically you tell them that you are claiming such and such and they would be better paying it now, otherwise you will take them to court and they will end up paying an additional 8% in statutory interest as well as the court costs. They will of course ignore you!

    But why reinvent the wheel? There are templates on the site that are already written for you.

    You need to read Martin's article, the previous posts in this thread and you'll find what you can and can't claim in the Reclaim Help Thread which is linked in my signature.

    Read Martin's article and read the Reclaim Help Thread which is linked in my signature along with post 8 in this thread.

    You'll find a link to the Barclays Bank thread there as well.

    Hi, I've been following the guide on the website, and have downloaded the template, but would like to know how I go about...
    Please find a full schedule of the charges with this document. [INCLUDE A LIST OF CHARGES AND BE SURE TO KEEP A COPY FOR YOURSELF]

    Do I just photocopy one of my statments or is it ok just to type out all the charges?

    Thanks

    Ralf
