Hi,
I want to get my bank charges refunded from barclays and was wondering if anyone has a template letter that i can send to them.
Are they likely to pay up, or will i be waiting!
Thanks in advance.:j I can't do it all on my own, I'm no Superman!:j0 -

Step-by-step Guides: Bank Charges: Reclaim Your Cash | Top New Bank Account Calculator: Charge them interest Template Letters: (right click and save) Ask for charge details |Initial letter | Second letter | Small claims note Get Updates On Important Changes: Free Weekly Money Tip
Follow the steps by first of all getting all your information/statements by using the "Ask for charge details" letter. Its important you use this letter and don't just go asking for statements from your bank as they can and do charge per statement.
Once you have this information you then need to input each and every claimable charge, see post 4 in the Reclaim Help Thread linked in my signature, into the Interest Calculator along with the date and description of each charge. Again it is important this is accurate as this will form your defence should you end up taking your bank to court. This needs to be sent to the bank with your first letter asking for the return of your charges. If you don't get the response you want you need to send off the next letter and follow the steps through.
If you have any problems with the letter and the responses from your bank, come back and post your query on the relevant thread for your bank where someone will be able to answer your query.
You need to start at the beginning by reading Martin's article above and following the steps. Please also see the Reclaim Help Thread which is linked in my signature.0 -
Does anyone have the address to send the letter to?
Thanks for all the advice.:j I can't do it all on my own, I'm no Superman!:j0 -
Also, Is there any way we can add on our own charge, within the law?
Might be being cheeky but i thought id ask.:j I can't do it all on my own, I'm no Superman!:j0 -
she is constantly in an over draft of 2k and is charged £30 every month for this and can never get out of it as she is paid 1k per month so its never ending
can you really claim money back ???

yes add all the charges up and proceed with the claims process, you may find its over 2k in charges which could get her out of the overdraft0

i cant believe it !! how far do you go back though with the charges ??
thanks lee0 -
Yes, she can claim. Being in debt does not mean that you aren't protected by the law. However, when you win, the bank has every right to, and almost certainly will, offset them against her debt with them.
