i'd very much like a pricematch from any of the CPW group of retailers...but i honestly doubt i'd get very far. £35p/m tariff, 12 month's free, free Nokia 6300 on e2save? unlikely imho

and i agree with you that these cashbacks terms tend to be confusing (to say the least), but i guess that's their security blanket to give them the guts to offer the kind of deals that they offer

but hey, from the customer's point of view the bigger the risks the bigger the returns isn't it? Play TMO's terms right and you get a free (technologically up to date!) phone and free contract...i was just wondering if i were to play by TMO's terms as they stand right now (ie not requiring original bills) will i be able to fight my case if they try to reject my claim later on (based on my sending duplicate bills)

thesaint clearly advocates sending the original bills...if this was the case TMO isn't quite worth it due to the enormous amount of paperwork req'd....but if copy bills are indeed sufficient (as prev alleged by TMO's rep on these threads), then TMO's cashback terms become reasonably manageable, esp in this age of internet billing, don't you think?

wanna know if there are any exisiting customers who claim (or have claimed) with copy bills instead of the real deal? and what was your outcome? thanks for the advice in advance!

The poblems listed here and elsewhere on the net seem to be saying that they find it hard to pay out when a completely legitimate claim has been made!!

    Why take the risk?

As far as originals v copies is concerned, it's not a big deal to just send them the originals (and keep copies for yourself) is it?

The contract is confusing, but does at one point say they should be originals, and should they argue it's in the contract, then you'd have to prove the contract was deliberately misleading, which is far harder than a simple breach of contract claim.

i must admit i haven't gone thru the entire thread, but thanks for pointing out that TMO facing difficulties when it comes to paying out cashbacks...perhaps they've been oversubscribed to, by a customer base of conscientious organised types who are able to adhere to T&Cs like glue? i dunno...but it does seem like consumers are getting better at claiming cashbacks, and as a result this "difficulty in paying out" seems to be getting more and more pervasive - my cashback with CNM is facing unprecedented "delays" too...

my thing with originals VS copies is that 1) the internet bill is always released at least 3 working days earlier than the postal one hence you can claim much faster; 2) if things *roosters-up, you can always just re-print and re-send...ordering a duplicate of your postal bill for such contingencies will cost (£5 if you're with 3 network); 3) you can still send your claim in even if Royal Mail fails to deliver your bill to your address (and this has happened to me b4)

I'm just about to make my first cashback claim. My potential problem is that I was automatically put onto online billing by Vodafone. I contacted them to request paper bills which I have received - but these have got "copy bills" printed on them.

Has anyone else had this problem and what was the outcome?

I've printed out the message on from TheMobileOutlet saying that copy bills are acceptable and shall send this with my claim but I'm expecting problems :(

I was in the same situation and TMO advised me to get Vodafone to send me out copy bills for my claim which I did, they paid my claim with no problems at all.

    Hi,

When we move to paying by BACS all customers will receive a confirmation email explaining cash back payments will be made by this method. The details used to make this payment will be those which were provided at the time of your original order. If these details have been changed you will be prompted to contact our admin department to provide your current banking information ensuring all payments are made to the correct account. This email will be sent out approximately 2 weeks before payment is due, allowing enough time for any changes to be made.

    Kind Regards
    Forum Query Team

I received an e-mail today stating that my payment by BACS would be in my account in 5 days time. There was no e-mail 2 weeks before payment was due(which was actually a few weeks ago) and no prompt to contact the admin dept re: bank account details.
Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.

    Webmaster,

I don’t know what has been going on in this thread during my absence, nor what this is all about, but my name is quoted in the abusive posting above and, as you will be able to see from your own internal records and logs, no postings have ever been deleted by me.

Even when misguidedly directed, a posting such as this is objectionable in a public forum and offensive to all who have to read it.

The great majority of those who post on here (including me) just want to exchange useful information about our dealings with TMO and resent it being used as a place for a handful of childish troublemakers to hurl insults at each other.

The last time this started happening the thread was locked. This is a valuable thread and it is clearly helping many people. Please may I ask repectfully that this time you apply your sanction firmly against those who post objectionably on it rather than against the thread itself.

I certainly resent my own name being dragged innocently into whatever bizarre vendettas are being waged here by people using silly pseudonyms.

As posts are not monitored (as per the Orange box at the top of the forum); if you wish to contact the moderators as you have issue with a post you should report it using the link within that post (the red '!' in the triangle)...

  • sent my second claim off at the end of April, not heard a dickie bird. The SAE with my bills has not been returned either. I e mailed TMO last week asking for an update as to the progress of my claim.

    Hi
Can anyone give me some advice, see post above. The 2 threads on TMO are very long and i cannot read through them all, if i follow the t&c's correctly will i get my money back if i claim from them or are they trying to rip people of, does anyone reccommend taking a contract out with them?
    Thanks
