  • Hi
has anyone got any good tips on how to get your redemption back from the mobile outlet if you have got it wrong?

basically our cashback was in two stages the first was to send in bills 1-6 on receipt of the 6th bill which we did - they took for ever to pay the redemtion and then when they did it was only for half the amount, again after many phone calls they eventually paid up.

during the hastle of the first claim we asked staff there to confirm the process for obtaining the second cashback which we followed. Unfortunately they gave us duff information which at the time confirmed the method that we had understood it to be. (send bills 11 and 12 in within 21 day of receiving them)
We waited for bill 12 then sent them both immediately recorded delivery. We have phoned Mobile Outlet who have said that this was a two stage process and we should have sent in bill 11 when we received it then bill 12 when we received that.

What a con, I am really angry has anyone been through this and got any tips on how to get our money back?

    thanks
  • Hi sdkirby1,

I work for e2save.com and i would advise you to contact the company and request that they lisen into the telephone conversation between you and the customer services advisor to prove you were misadvised by there company.

I really hope you get your issue resolved.

    Hi,
I have got two mobile contracts with tmo – got them before reading the posts here on this forum. I have got my first claim from them for one of the mobile without any problem. Had a problem with the claim for the second mobile – I had to send in my first 4 bills for the first claim, but I had to goto India during the 4th month and so, gave a change of address to my friend’s place and went on holiday. My friend for some reasons didn’t receive my 4th bill and so posted only the first 3 bills to them. I came back and found the problem and wrote to virgin. They had sent me an apology letter for not doing the change of address correctly.

I then wrote to tmo explaining my situ and they have replied me kindly allowing me to claim the rest of the chequebacks as a good will gesture. I was really worried after reading the posts here about our mses experience with tmo. I am really pleased with their decision otherwise, I would end up loosing atleast 400.00GBP as my first claim itself was declined.

I am a happy girl now!!! Thanks to TMO!!!
    Credit card debt:
    MBNA: £1000
    RBS: £3500

    Hi,

Been reading through these threads for a good hour, thanks to all who have contributed.

I submitted my first cashback claim to them and was completed successfully with no hassle.

however, upon sending my second claim it turns out i was a few days late and have recieved the rejection letter.

Is there any way i can get any cashback anyway through any means? as their admin office is so dis organised is there any way around this:mad:

Sorry to say, but I fear that you've kissed your money goodbye.

The Mobile Outlet have difficulty paying legitimate claims let alone ones that are not valid.

hi guys...need some advice re: TMO...but apologies if this is a rehash of what's been discussed in the earlier posts

i've just been thru TMO's T&Cs and i've read the bit about how to claim your cashbacks....the interesting bit i've noticed (and correct me if i'm wrong here) is that they never explicitly state the need for the customer to submit ORIGINAL POSTAL bills for cashback claims; these are just plainly referred to as "bills". i'm assuming (again, correct me if i'm wrong) that ONLINE print-out bills (legitimate ones nonetheless) will be sufficient for these current T&Cs?

of course to just go ahead and try it on with TMO based on this hunch of mine would be foolish and probably futile too...that's y i thought i'd seek the opinion of existing customers and perhaps the odd legal eagle who happens to source his/her mobile phone from TMO as well?

    many thanks in advance!

The Mobile Outlet have stated on this thread (when they used to visit) that copy bills are sufficient.

Would I send copy bills? No.

    Have another look:

    11.2 says:
    These bills must be originals

hi quentin, thanx for the input

i'm looking for a 12mth free 12mth contract from TMO, but looking at clause 11.3:

"The steps in point 11.1, 11.2 only apply to contracts where the cash back entitlement is £200 or less. To claim cash back in cases where your entitlement is £201 and above you need to comply with the following 5 stages listed below."

    any ideas? many thanks!

Firstly, couldn't you see if you could get the deal you fancy from somewhere else like cpw/e2save using pricematch? Hasn't reading all these problems steered you away from them?

TMO's contract does seem deliberately designed to cause confusion - as any mistake by a confused customer is treated harshly by them as that negates the total cashback.

To stand any chance you must stick rigidly to the conditions (which you accept before you buy the phone from them). So it is no good saying for example "I'm not sending you my whole bill as it contains details of all my calls which is confidential" when you accepted that requirement originally.

They ask for original bills in 11.2, but not 11.3 - just another example of the confusion they create.
  • Crumbs! I've just ordered a phone from them! I need a cheap contract phone on Vodaphone as I'm moving house and O2 does not work there!

I can cancel the phone within so many days of ordering can't i?
