Did you know that by contacting them, they are spending time answering you and not issuing cashbacks:rolleyes: .

Their terms and conditions state that you should allow 28 days and not 28 working days for the delivery of your cheque.

Is it quicker for them to reply to a court summons than an email asking where your money is then? ;)

TMO are their own worst enemies; they are so inconsistent.

Sometimes they come on here and say X, other times they say Y, to someone in a PM/email/by phone they may say Z and other times they don't post on here/answer PMs/emails/the phone at all.

Sometimes they email you to say your claim is successful, other times you hear nothing.

Sometimes they may just happen to send some random bit of documentation back to you that you weren't expecting.

Can you really blame people for chasing them to check what is going on? If they didn't there would be some saying they left it too late to chase.

...or the people at TMO could sit down, decide on what the rules for us are and what they will do and stick to them?

Mobileshop have an online system to check the status of claims (not that atm they are having a good time of things); TMO could do something similar if administrative overheads was of concern.

As someone else has stated before, they could ease the whole process for all byt reducing the number of claims from five to two.

I'd be easier going on TMO if they helped themselves, even if they were to send out emails to all saying 'you have been successful and your claim will be paid out in six weeks on X' that would cut concern and communication. Okay, so there would be some unhappy that it wasn't four weeks and they would have to pay in those six weeks.... but that is just another example.

Anyway, why am I allowing myself to be drawn into this!?

Can we be a bit more realistic here? Why can't TMO inform anyone that they've received their cashback claim? When I buy something off a business such as eBay or CD WOW or Amazon, I am given confirmation of my order or payment.

Seriously, all that their admin involves is an automated response from the cashback team or from Joseph. It's not as if they carefully consider their responses and type every one out individually is it?

The same applies for when they receive a cashback claim - how long does it take to check that the dispatch note and the required bills are in the envelope and then check it was received 21 days after the date on the last bill? About 30 seconds. If they've got such a backlog, they could consider getting another employee?

It's obvious they're dragging their feet, the only way to get results out of companies that do this is to pester them, they're hoping people forget, remember, or else they wouldn't make any money.

I sent of a claim to buymobilephones.net on Saturday and got confirmation today that it will be paid. Why can't it be that easy with TMO?
  • Hello,

I received a cheque for the second and last half of my cashback from TMO, in full, this morning. Assuming the cheque cashes, all is well.

It arrived a bit late: I received an email to tell me TMO had my 11th bill a few days after they received my 12th, and an email to say they had received my 12th on the final day (day 28, 12th April) for receiving the cashback, however email responses on the forums address have been prompt and the cheque has arrived.

    Bests, and good luck, all.

Has anyone read the Virgin thread? E2save honour cashback claims even if they do not receive your claim as long as you have a proof of posting provided by sending it recorded delivery. The deal is not as good as this one as it's sim only, but it goes to show how a company can treat customers.

Just a thought, although previously agreeing not to pester until the 28 days is up, I have changed my mind, as if you have forgot something in your claim, by the time you are informed, it will be outside the deadline to make a claim and render all subsequent claims void.

I think someone on this thread should work in the Mobile Outlets' PR department.

Just to let you all know that TMO have decided to defend the case I'm bringing! We have a court date (July) and I shall keep you posted. I feel it would be unwise to comment any further, but wanted to keep you all informed.
  • iabw, could you outline your case for us?

iabw, could you outline your case for us?

I'm hesitant to do so within a public forum - but happy to help via PM. Hope that helps.
