  • Hi, I have been having trouble with the Mobile Outlet with regards to cashback claim. Could someone please PM me if they have a copy of the terms and conditions dating from January 2006 or before?

    Many thanks
  • Response to thesaint, every thread on every forum on this planet has this problem. People don't read what's happened and just ask the same questions over and pver thus making the thread extremely long. Perhaps we are in need of a moderator, and perhaps some 'sticky' topics to be posted onto the front page of this thread?

I agree with thesaint here; it does get tedious if everyone is going to post everytime they do anything with TMO.

It is easier to read the thread if it is just the highlights, 'like got my cashback on time/x days/weeks/months late did / did not have to chase' etc. rather than, 'wish me luck, just sent mine off' followed by 'it's due today :(' etc.

I've been keeping up with this thread, but have had nothing to say as the second claim has gone in and that is it, no news yet.

I've championed a sticky at the beginning of the thread with a FAQ but TMO didn't appear to like the idea as they ignored it, maybe they don't like the idea of anything that makes it easier for more people to make successful claims?

To hell with that anyway, maybe we should just put a FAQ with our own findings at the beginning of this thread and update it?

Not really. Even recorded delivery you can find out who signed for it free of charge online. That is more then sufficient but yes with RM Special delivery you get consequential insurance but to be honest, RM recorded delivery works well depending on which retailer you deal with :)

I don't know if the system has changed, but recorded delivery items used to be delivered with the normal mail whereas special delivery is signed for by each postal worker as they handle it. So a recorded delivery can go missing and no one would know where it went.

It doesn't matter if the retailer is good or not. As the retailer may not even receive it.

I apolgise if this information is out of date.

    Precisely so.

The difficulty for most people (including me) is that we are acting in isolation and unless others do post on here up-to-date information about their own experiences, good or bad, we don’t know if the problems we encounter are typical or exceptional - and we need to know that in order to decide what approach to take in resolving them.

As to the reasons for delays in issuing cashbacks, whatever view one takes about the cause of them (and my own is no less cynical than most) it nonetheless stands to reason that if staff are spending their time answering unnecessary emails and telephone calls, self-evidently they aren’t spending it processing cashback claims.

Whether the problems we have as indiduals are typical or not is cold comfort for someone potentially losing hundreds of pounds. If it makes you feel better that others are suffering too, then I can't argue with that. I do think that most people come on here because they want information on how to resolve their claim.

I've already said that I agree that they shouldn't be answering unecessary calls and e-mails, but it's a fact of life in business.

Can't argue against my hypocrisy :), but if all information is available already then I'll save the effort in responding to any more queries. :)

    Hi
I have a bit situation which I am not sure what to do.

I already have T-mobile (relax 200 18months taken on 2ng August 2006) from THE LINK and took another contract (Flext 35 12months) from The Mobile Outlet on 14th Feb 2007.

Now the problem is, as I already had account with T-Mobile so they simply added this new one to the existing one. As a result I am getting one ONE bill for both contracts.

I have talked to T-Mobile and they are useless. they can not produce two separate bills as the contracts are on the same name. I have to trasfer one phone to another name (and lose my cashback :naughty: )

could you please tell me if TMO will accept this combined bill when I send my cash back calim in JUNE.

    Thanks

    hi all,
I've been readin on this forum for about 6 months now.. debating whether to order it or not. i see loads of people are being successful and i've noted all the tips from the three threads i've been reading on.

i've just now placed my order.

the question above is one which will affect me..
i already have a line rental with tmobile. they always put all bills onto one sheet.. will this affect my order with TMO?

please can someone help me with this? should i just transfer my direct debit for my old line rental to a different account?

I made my first claim for cashback recently. I sent my claim Special Delivery on the 29th March, and am informed on Royal Mail's website that it was delivered (although the electronic signature thing didn't work?).

I have since E-mailed TMO twice to find out what's going on, I received one reply saying they are twenty working days(!) behind and to contact them after that.

    The other reply from Joseph (their ONLY employee?) said that;

"When the bills are logged onto your system, you will receive a confirmation email. Please allow 28 working days for your claim."

These seem to be the only responses I can get out of them. On April 26th it will be 28 days since they received my claim so I shall be E-mailing them again on that day to give them another chance before I make a court claim.

PS: for what it's worth, I think an FAQ is actually a good idea, it'll stop this thread getting so clogged with questions for one thing. The only problem is if anyone can be arsed to write it...

BrendaY, I won't quote you as the thread is long enough, but the situation only gets complicated when people make decisions based on a handful of experiences.

The law remains the same whether or not A retailer is of 'previous good character' or not. What I believe 'works' is following the terms and conditions that The Mobile Outlet sets and then a 'letter before action', and then a trip to the small claims court or MCOL.

I shouldn't complain because the more people dither and post on here, ups the likelihood of their being more money in the pot to pay me.

Did you know that by contacting them, they are spending time answering you and not issuing cashbacks:rolleyes: .

Their terms and conditions state that you should allow 28 days and not 28 working days for the delivery of your cheque.
