I have no experience of it.
Re concealing skin problems, most MMU ranges do a purpose-built concealer, or you can try light colours underneath your normal colour foundation on dark areas, or yellowish colours on red...

Verona beat me too it:D
The OCM is any ccastor oil you can get your mitts on. I find smaller chemist are more likely to stock it in with the bits and bobs for constipation (its a laxitive)
Its really helped with the oil slick that was my face. I still get shine - but more of a normal amount and I can now just touch up my make up without having to start from scratch because its all slid offIt can take a while to get the mix for you right and how many times a week to use it, I went in too heavy and used it too many times and ended up with very dry skin so I went back to 20/80 and slowly adjusted up to around 40/60 now and perhaps only use it three times a week - more if I see my pores looking mank.
With the coverage of the mineral make up, I use a concealer brush and a combo of mineral concealer and just a bit more mineral foundation. For a vein, I would dab some concealer on first using the concealer brush, then cover with foundation as usual and then go back and using the concealer brush just blend a bit more concealer on.For bigger areas ( I have roseacea ) I buff on a layer of concealer with my kabuki, then foundation then just touch up any really stubbon areas
Dont forget minerals do take a while to "work" on your face so small amounts to start and if needed go back and build up. It shouldnt go chalky, it should look almost creamy or air brushed. The buffing does that - small circular movements all over your face - concentrating on problem areas0 -
When it comes to brushes, what would I need? A large Kabuki for foundation and veil, a concealer brush, and a blusher brush? Going to invest in some this week and try and sort out some colours to try, but I have no idea really, whether to go for yellow/pink/fair/arghhhh lol.Mother, wife, scientist, analyst.

I use mostly the Kabuki from ELF, the face brush from Elemental Beauty, the flawless face brush from Bare escentuals and the concealer brush from lilly lolo - just to give you an idea of how little or how much you can spend and the various brands around (theres a lot more, everyone has their favs) I also use a huge bronzer brush from Superdrug to put on bronzers and blush
Colour wise, Im a brunette who tans easily so I use medium colours with a yellow base0 -
After reading the whole thread and advice from others etc I decided which brands sound the best so I ordered the Bare Escentuals Start kit in light (which comes with the good brushes etc).
I also ordered three foundation samples and a full size eyeshadow from Lily Lolo
And four foundation samples and a full size blusher from Elemental Beauty
I also ordered a full foundation and kabuki brush from E.L.F. as they are just so cheap and look good and might aswell try at that price!
I also didn't know if I was 'Cool, neutral or warm' skin tone etc so that's why i've ordered lots of samples to see what's best.
Can't wait for them to come, I will post pics on here so other newbies to mineral makeup can see what the samples are like etc.
I've also watched a lot of Bare Escentuals tutorials on youtube and i'm so excited to get it all
Thnx for the advice earlier folks :T0 -
Quick question - I understand that Bare Escentuals is stocked in Debenhams and Selfridges - do either of them have a proper "counter" in their Oxford Street branches, and if so, do they give out free samples upon request as the other premium cosmetic brands do?

Ive only seen them sold on a stand in Debenhams
However I have seen them being sold in the beauty salon of the Virgin Gym in Colliers Wood (that was about 4 years ago when I worked in that area) perhaps theres salons near you that use them?0 -
Thanks
I'll be walking past both Debenhams and Selfridges on Thursday evening so might have a peek anyway.Operation Get in Shape
