Thats great, just looked and its looking good. will you do face pics? before and after to show what mmu looks like on?

You need a wee linky thingy in your siggy so people can find it easily

Mineral eyeshadows are lovely arent they? I have a freebie from ELF - a copper colour. I use it as eyeliner as its just a lovely metallic shade

    Aww thanks :o

Yeah i'm gonna do face pics, before + after etc but need to wait on my BE starter kit which should be here soon to get the good brushes as I only have the loreal one at the minute as that was my first mineral makeup before I found this thread and saw i needed to invest in 100% minerals and better quality brushes etc :o

Yeah the eyeshadow is great, multi dimensional as opposed to all the flat colours i usually use.

I only saw e.l.f. website for the first time the other day when someone mentioned it on here and i ended up spending £25 :o Only bought 1 mineral foundation and 1 mineral lipstick and the rest was things like eyeliner etc as it was all so cheap at just £1.50! :rotfl:

Also bought an e.l.f. kabuki brush as I saw someone on here (i think it was you Suki) say it was good, so thanks for that :T

Am i allowed links in my sig?

My kabuki from ELF is just fine for its price. I pulled out my BE one today for a change and tbh, it didnt feel any better even though it cost a hell of a lot more and coverage was as good. It was also in Woman or woman's own as recommended last week. However someone has posted their one wasnt so good and the bristles fell out:confused:

I think my personal fav is the EB one - long handled one and not so big but I do get a lot of loose hairs on that one. Luckily they are black so easily spotted to brush off:D

dont you justhate when people come on here raving about new makeup ranges - costs me a flamin fortune :rotfl::rotfl:Luckily ELF mistakes are easier to swallow. I like their lippys, hate their nail varnishes, impressed with their brushes (for the price) - its all hit and miss

Linkys in siggies - Im not sure:confused: perhaps ask a board guide?

Many of the product descriptions say, for example, that a bronzer can be used as an eyeliner, or eye shadow, or vice-versa.

So I'm wondering, are all mineral stuff 'multi-tasking'? Can I use foundation as a concealer? Eye shadow as blush? And so on? Or are there things that are not safe to use in certain parts? (most particularly eyes, for example).

    Thanks!

I have so far only tried Elemental Beauty mineral products, and on the website there are some restrictions - for example the concealers shouldn't be used on lips because they contain ultramarine.

Well following on from success with OCM - I am nice and pimple free and thought I was ready to start using my mineral makeup testers (elemental beauty).
But its not working out :(. Although my pores are clear - they are noticeably there... Previous tips suggest most misapplication is actually adding too much makeup - so I've tried reducing the amount but still happens.
I know its not in my mind because I did half my face in mineral make up and the other with my old one, and unfortunately the half with the old stuff looked much better... Which is a real pain in the *** because its really expensive and I liked the idea of the healthier/less chemical/sunscreen/airbrushed glow benefits of minerals.

Before I give up completely are there any other pointers? (I have got a kabuki and I am buffing in circular motions...)

    thanks

I've checked your last 25 posts and can't see what the problems were exactly, nor what brand/s you are using. I presume that previous tips you've been given include making sure that your moisturiser has well sunk in and "dried"? I don't use circular brush strokes, I do it willy-nilly, but I don't suppose that makes much difference.

Forgive me if this has been done to death in this thread, but Everyday Minerals in the US are doing a very generous free sample offer - pay shipping only, I ordered today and that came to £3.22. You get 3 "bases" and a concealer and a blush:

    https://www.everydayminerals.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=26&Itemid=40

You order the sample kit, then browse the relevant categories and drag 'n drop each of the specific items you want into your trolley - quite ingenious, if difficult to get the hang of at first (for some thickos ;) ).

Someone who's already received their package reckoned it should last her a month :)

So that might cheer you up, Funky - a cheap way of trying a different brand.

thanks verona - sorry wasn't clear... I haven't asked specific questions here before - just referring to tips given to other people in this thread!!!!

Realised that a few people had difficulties with getting the hang of minerals initially - will have a few more goes over the weekend. Fortunately I got 3 colours so will try if it works better with different shades!

thanks all - this is a great site - learning so much!!!!

I was really really disappointed with Bare Escentuals - and I've tried it a few times over the last 3/4 years

I seem to be one of the people who has a strong reaction to the bismuth oxychloride in it and so it starts with itching and burning feelings on my face and ends up leaving me red-raw and painful.

When I used it on my eyes, they ended up swollen and sore.

I realise that bismuth is also in most high street liquid foundations etc but you don't push those into the pores in the same way you do with the "tap, swirl, buff" method.

It really really annoyed me the way it was sold as being perfect for all skin - even skin that has just had a chemical face peel  - when there are many many people with the same reaction that I had.

I found EB did this to me - no matter how carefully or carelessly I applied. For me FACE VALUE COSMETICS LLC or Minerals Will Work 4 U don't have the strawberry nose effect. I've no idea why - whether its to do with the size of the ground bits or the content but EB just wouldn't work for me so it may be worth you trying these, or other makes recommended by various people in this forum, before giving up all together.
