Last time I looked at that iona cosmetics site (for the brushes) it was offline for redevelopment.
Oooh but guess what - I've ordered the EB dumpy powder brush :j
(and speak of the devil... my EB order just arrived!)Operation Get in Shape

Nicola at EB may (well she will be..) helpful re brushes - I like the pink dumpy brush that they did - not sure it is still available. Ask Nicola she may have some.
I didn't like the kabuki's - I like a slightly longer handle.Genie

I like a long one too:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
No, all jokes aside, I know what you mean about stubby handles, I much prefer a proper handle:D0 -
It was White Lightening Ruddy if I remember rightly:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
You are such a 'ho'........
It was Sunshine....... which I have reordered and fancied a slightly darker shade and Nicola recommended Honey - which I have ordered. In fact both arrived today.
I will be trying out my new Honey shade tomorrow. I normally have healing foundation only. Have ordered that with the Sunshine but am trying for the first time, the other one, which I can't remember what its called.... normal? or it may be something like soft focus.......... I;ve had a really b*m day so forgive for being dumb... and forgetfulGenie

Just another thank you to vernarona (I'm sure I thanked you on the post last week) for the Everday Minerals info.
I have tried so many different minerals and not found anything that quite hit the mark.
Anyway, get this, I ordered the freebie sample kit from EM on Good Friday, and it arrived at my door, from America, on Wednesday!!! I couldn't believe it. We had two Bank Holidays and a weekend in there and look how fast it arrived. I haven't checked my PayPal yet so I don't know exactly how much it cost for postage but it was definitely under £4. For that I got 3 foundations samples, a concealer, and a blusher. Big enough sizes for each foundation to last more than a week, I'd say.
Anyway, onto the product itself. I do like a bit of coverage, so I ordered the 'Intensive' formula. I love it. I'm not sure that I've found quite the right shade yet, but there's so much choice and I do think I'll find the right one. Fairly Light is soooo close to being right for me, that I can get away with it. I'm having fun experimenting with the three shades I bought - they are all wearable. I like the coverage and it's the easiest of all the MMU I've tried for application.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I've found 'The One' ! At last...0 -
I'm so glad you like the samples, HH - as you can see from this thread, MMU is a saviour for many of us with difficult skin, and further afield there must be hundreds of thousands of relieved users. I got my samples yesterday, haven't tried them yet - it looks as though I've chosen too-pale colours but you can't tell until you apply.
I happened to look at The Body Shop's MMU this morning for the first time - I see that their foundation has SPF 25, which is higher than most. It also has kaolin in it, which might make it a bit heavy for some, but I thought I'd mention it - it gives more freedom of choice for moisturisers if you don't have to worry about them having an SPF, or what chemicals comprise the SPF.
It may have been mentioned before, but this is such a long thread
Happy buffing, all

Thanks for the help about brushes.
I ordered some more EM samples last night and as I was paying postage anyway I added on a concealer brush, came to £7 something for 5 samples, concealer brush, and postage. And I've just bought a BE flawless face brush from ebay, £8.75 with free delivery. Now all I need is a kabuki. I want a long-handled one but both EB and ELF seem to only sell short ones from what I can see on the websites? http://www.elementalbeauty.co.uk/p/category/0707261843-Kabukis+%26+Brushes+etc/ and http://www.eyeslipsface.co.uk/product~prodID~88.htm
That will be my second EM sample kit, but I haven't tried the old ones yet as I didn't have the brushes. Have ordered different shades of all samples as I have absolutely no idea what colouring I need. In the past I have never worn foundation except very very rarely and always just buy translucent powder and fair concealer from somewhere like Rimmel or Boots 17
From what I can tell on the various websites, I need to know whether my skin is... very fair or fair or medium, has neutral or pink or yellow undertones, and is warm or cool. I HAVE NO IDEA haha. I am quite pale I know that much, but not quite milk bottle. I have dark blue undereyes no matter how much sleep I get. Medium brown hair with specks of red in and blue eyes. I do tan but not easily, it takes quite a long time for me to get a decent colour. I have freckles which get more in summer, and I get red blemishes which even if I don't touch, leave a red area for a long time after going, and redness around my nose. And my skin is generally quite uneven in colouring, I am not sure whether it is yellowy or bluey or pinky, I don't know how to tellLOL!
Maybe one day I will post a photo and someone can tell me

Mouthscradle.....
I don't really want to keep going on about Elemental Beauty as folk will think I have shares in the company.... but, Nicola is very helpful.
I asked for a shade darker than previous one I had - not sure what to order, she had a recommendation - and I got it yesterday and it is perfect.
She is so nice. And she really cares about her business and obviously she wants satisfied customers - I recommend you email her or call her. I don't know of another company that is this helpful - and the bonus is, the product is brilliant. Pure minerals - my skin has never been better.
Good luck!Genie
