If he is only having that at the weekends to "get at you" then I doubt the arrangement will last long. Be will get bored. Looking after two young children is hard work (as I'm sure you know).

Personally, if he is liable to play games, then I would want him to have them at the weekends so he can't mess up my childcare arrangements. He can play a lot more games if you are relying on him in order to get to work on time. He doesn't sound like the kind of man you can rely on.

That is a very good point! If he gets what he wants without a fight it might not be so much fun for him. However, if the arrangement was successful and lasted, it would also allow you to have some time to go shopping, meet friends etc and believe me, although it would be hard at first, you would come to really value that "me" time because being a single mum is not easy!

If you feel that your children will suffer physically, mentally and emotionally whilst in his 'care' then refuse all contact until a court orders otherwise.

    Hi everyone :)

I have recently split up with my ex. He wants weekend visitation rights (every second weekend).

I work full time in order to provide for my children, he doesn't work and doesn't provide financially.

I offered him 1 or 2 days a week during the week while I am at work but he wants them at the weekend and has said that he is going to take me to court :(

What do you think his chances are? I don't see why I should be out providing while he isn't doing anything and should have to miss weekends with my babies :(

Every non-resident parent has the right to see their children at alternate weekends whether he is paying for them or not. Your kids have the right to see their father.
Im a non-resident mother and I have for years seen my daughter at alternate weekends, I work and pay my way for my child.
You are not providing for him, you are providing for your children.
Two weekends a month being without them is not going to kill you, it will give you time to do the things you want to do.
Do not punish the father. He is showing interest in his kids.

As a general rule that is the case but there are plenty of non-resident parents who don't have that right for various reasons because the child's safety is paramount. DSDs mum wanted that and 3 times the court refused her application, she had to put up with what the supervised contact were prepared to offer her which was 2 hours a month.
