Hello everyone. Welcome to the Weekly Spend Challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.
On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. The challenge runs from Sunday to Friday so we don't include Saturdays but feel free to change the rules to suit you and include Saturdays or start on a different day.
Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:
Green - within budget
Red - overbudget
Purple - zero spend
Orange - made money over the week
This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.

Hi all
I'm determined to save more - target me for £20 this week please.
I'll go and post on the old thread but I have come in under target at £18.99 for the week last week. So easy to stick to a smaller budget when I'm at work.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -

Hi LC and everyone
I was a part of this thread a few years ago, and with one thing or another dodnt keep up with the MSE site or way of life.
I am now back and although i don't have a huge debt, i am desperate to get rid of it. So i am back and joining the challenges that helped me before. That's if it is ok to come back..... please.......
Anyway i like the idea of planning the week in black and white and sharing it on here, i think that will help me stick to my budget even more.
I have £10 for this week
Sunday: out for lunch - hoping hubby with pay
Mon: work, then food shopping (seperate budget) - NSD
Tues: work - NSD
Weds: work then out for an evening spa, courtesy of work. so should be a NSD
Thurs: work - NSD
Fri: - work - NSD
So should be finishing the week with £10 in tact. :rotfl::rotfl:
We shall see.SPC 18 Target £200 /0 -
Hi everyone!
Nice to see you're back for another week scotmumof3! Well done on your green week chris81418, I think you're being a bit optimistic with your sunshine smilie though!
wannabee_in_credit, I agree about it being easier to stick to the smaller budget while at work - although I don't have kids or an other half or anything (*sob* ... just kidding!) - just myself to blame for spends! :rotfl: I thought I had long days this week Welsh Dreamer, but seriously, 8am till 12am??????? Am I reading that correctly, as in a 16 hour shift?! Don't envy you one bit!
Well done on making some money on eBay KellyKing1984, it's a good feeling isn't it! I'm hoping to do the same soon (once I get my *$$ in gear!!!) And finally, welcome back EverTheOptimist, it's good to take control again! Good luck with keeping that £10 in your pocket!
Well everyone, I'm off to bed... I know, I know, my rock and roll lifestyle... :rotfl: old at 27 ... sad huh!
Night all x

Hey,
Can i join this challenge please, and set my pleadge at £80. It would normally be a lot less but I need to buy some things for two of my bedrooms to get them ready to let again. That will really boost my income. So £60 is for that and £20 is for me2012 Frugal Living Challenge £62.09/£40000 -
Hi everyone
I'm new to this, but will give it a shot. I waste so much money on snacks/drinks etc. so I think this'll help me curb that!
Setting my pledge at £200
