  • Hi :) I've never done this before but I need to start actually budgeting my week instead of just saying I will, and I think this will give me a good push in the right direction :)

I am going to aim for £25 this week! I have two catch-up lunches with friends I haven't seen in a long time planned, hoping I can keep those down to £5 each! And then there are 2 swim sessions (£7) and the train into work (rounded up to £8). Anything left over I am going to put into my sealed pot :)

    Good Morning :)

Hoping for a spend free week this week :) Don't even have to put my £1 in the tea fund as I bought the milk which was a £1 :)
I wonder if I can make it to Friday without spending anything??????

Sunday - NSD :) (for this challenge, I did buy some pizzas for the DD's but that's out of the food budget)

    Have a great Monday x x

  • Morning all :)

Please can you put me down for £40.

Sun 15/01 - NSD (Went to gym for 1 hour and free jacuzzi after!)
Mon 16/01 - £15 Food Shop (I have been buying food weekly so need to get some bits for the week and also need to get my fussy cat some food)
    Tues 17/01 - NSD
Weds 18/01 - £5 - meeting a friend for a drink, will drive so can make my excuses only to have one!
    Thurs 19/01 - NSD
    Fri 20/01 - NSD
Sat 21/01 - £20 - Planned night-out with my two bestest friends (much needed due to feeling very down in the dumps this month). Will walk into town instead of getting taxi and share a bottle of wine to save cost)
    Sun 22/01 - NSD

I hope I can keep to this and maybe even save some money for next week. I'm going to go to my local Mr T's after work to see if I can pick up some whoopsies in there rather than have to drive to Morr*sons.

    Good luck saving everyone :money:

The £7 is for both swims! Sorry, should have put that, they are £3.50 each :) Already £3.50 up because I was a wimp today and didn't want to walk to the pool in the cold, haha :)

  • This is actually quite helpful, I am on a new budgeting journey this year, and it really helps committing to this and sharing my experiences... thanks for setting up this challenge!

I am pleased to report that I spent £1.30 out of my £10 budget so far...

I've just walked through the door and scoffed my face full of chocolate - as it's 'free'. I HATE VENDING MACHINES £60 PER TREAT >:-(((
  • *squeezes in the door*
Gosh, it is rather crowded in here this week which can only be a good thing:D

Welcome to all the newbies and returners:beer:
It has been freezing here but dry so I am not complaining.

Spends today (anything under 50p goes in saving pots):
    • £1 on milk & apple
    • £1 chocolate dessert
    • £1 on toothpaste
    • £2 on soup and cheese/crackers for lunch
    Total £5 / £20

Not got much else planned for the week maybe the cinema on Wednesday night but I have a cinema card so only the cost of anything I buy there.

Roll on Tuesday, I am going to go to the gym before work tomorrow so better get myself to bed. Night all.

I have no spending plans today either :) but I am not counting my chickens, who knows what life is going to throw at me today. I had such a rotten day at work yesterday, I'm surprised I didn't spend a fortune on chocolate
