Yes, thrifty katie - we must be feeling the same!
You have done really well to lose that stone - so enjoy your hols - if you hadn't lost it you would be getting even heavier when you go and eat. Reward yourself, relax and enjoy and you know you can do it so get straight back on when you come home.
Have a good day bbxx
Oh, and belated birthday wishes to you xIf you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.0 -
DS has been raiding the fridge & eating the sugar free jelly!!
Need to get more wee pots to make it up in.
Any ideas anyone?
Go to Woolies and the plastic cups they sell that look like a wine glass with a heavy blue coloured base work a treat because they cannot be toppled over, they are picnic plastic and I feel mine with drained fruit cocktail in juice and the kids love it especially the lime one and blackcurrant (I am not sure now but at Morrisons they had buy one get one free so we have stacks!!)
Suggs hope the move in went welll:D
I have got sweets for MD tomorrow but I have bought pick and mix and given myself just 4 of my favourtie and the kids have the same so I can either save them or eat them all but they are not a lot of sweets:D
thrifty The dietitians say that if you lay out what you eat all week or in a day (Gillian does it) that it all looks pale and bland full of fat, calories, processed foods etc and it makes you feel bloated, have indigestion, heart burn, and on and on with the negatives!! They say to eat a healthy balanced diet and all the bad symptons go.... I must admit I feel better for all this and do not have such a stomach bloated feeling ache but I still wonder if it is possible to do every single day for the rest of life!!!
TOTM......I find it near impossible to keep going but I don't crave chocs as I am diabetic but I do crave huge amounts of food so I have to make sure that my day is full as it can be and drag the kids out to the park, to play, clean the house anything and everything to make sure I do not succumb and Oh do I clock watch a lot for my next alloted time for the meal but I get through it with sheer determination and look back on it and think....see I did it I can do it but boy is it hard!!!!0 -
Must go back and catch up with this thread as I've not read it for a few days. Thanks to the inspriation on here, I've just been out for the first run I've done in several years. Actually it was more of a jog and a walk, I stopped running about 4 years ago when I did some serious injury to my knee so I'm going to build up slowly so I don't damage it again.
Hope everyone else is doing ok.Debts: Mum £3923 0% APR0 -

Hope today goes well Suggs and that Mrs Suggs appreciates the new bookcases and your efforts for her (their) arrival.
Morning all, just a quick one before the events of the day.
Many Thanks for all your kind thoughts, too many names to mention, but I do thank you all.
Im going to nip to Ikea as the glass doors for the bookcases Mrs Suggs wants are now in stock.
Its a shame the bathroom is not quite ready, Its been retiled, new suite, new wood floor, new shower and screen, removing the old double layer of tiles took a day! Thankfully I have a cloakroom so all is not lost :rotfl:
Right time for me to get going. Have a Great St Patrick's Day one and all.

As usual I start off with an apology for my previous post
, I was very nearly away with the fairies :rotfl: but I do get so excited at times. Special sorries to - howdumbarewe! You sound as if you are getting things well under way by walking and healthy eating, I'm sure someone here can give some advice about thyroids - and to swizzle You have done well too and most people find the last few pounds he hardest to lose, don't get disheartened if you have a week with no loss, we all have weeks like that, and how nice that you want to continue with SW to help your friend, that's what I call a friend. I hope I didn't scare you both away yesterday
.
thriftykatie belated birthday wishes. At least you have lost a stone, imagine how you would be feeling now if you hadn't lost anything, (and more than likely gained!) I will view your post as a salutory reminder to keep going so that I don't say "Oh I wish..." I agree with you that if I over indulge my body seems to tell me that it just wasn't such a good idea but we never seem to learn do we? Lucky you going to Oz I wish I was.
Lois That was very good advice that you gave to Suggs but I think that if he adds "...I'm only a man" he should be quids in, because I can't come up with a response to that despite giving it some thoughy for years. So if any of you clever ladies know of a suitable one I shall be much obliged.bargain_babe wrote: »thank you so much for all your thoughtful replies. This thread is really great - how many of us could go a weigh-in and really tell the truth of how we have been doing? I feel really pleased that we can all tell it how it is and still be there to support each other. Thanks each and every one of you.
(ps I'm still not having a good time with comfort eating - but will get myself sorted with all your help! - you have been very motivational)
I quite agree with you bb I found it the same when I went to slimming classes. I also find that support is always here no matter what time of the day or week, whereas by going to classes it was just once a week and it didn't stay in your head for the next 7 days, if you get what I mean? Comfort eating is the bane of a lot of us here, you will soon find that you will do it less often. Try and keep your mind occupied with anything but food. Last week on here there was quite a discussion about what to do with excess flesh, and retiredlady mentioned in passing about whether burns units would use it (or something like that) and this set me thinking, so I googled 'skin donation' and by the time I had visited various sites on the whys and hows of the procedures, about 2 hours had passed without thinking about food indeed I was ready to consider becoming vegan:rotfl: I find the internet the most useful thing in my life.
Well I'm off now to investigate that CSI link of Katiepc
Keep thinking positive thoughts everyone
xxxxI wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latterbut my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

Morning All and Happy Mothers Day!
Its snowing here today  DH and kids brought me breakfast in bed and was soooo tempted not to get up cos its freezing. My parents, brother and his partner are coming for dinner tonight so I had to! Most of it is made, DH cooked the meat last night so just need to prepare the veg and potatoes and make dessert.
I hope that you all have a lovely day, whether celebrating Mother's Day or not.0 -
Morning Honey and anyone else who's managed to get out of bed yet
I haven't had my pampering yet, since my 'children' have all left home and the DH hasn't got a clue  .
I get to have my Mum's Day over 2 weekends because we're taking my Mum out to lunch today and two of my children will be there too and then next weekend we're going out for me, with all 3 children along.
It doesn't look too bad outside - blustery but the sun is shining (for the moment anyway).
Hope everyone has a lovely relaxing Sunday (whether you're a mum or not).I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
gosh it's quiet today! Hope all the mum's are enjoying breakfast in bed - fruit and muesli of course, obviously! Not much to add really, well done to thrifykatie on your achievenment, I bet you can't wait to get to Australia. And Suggs. your bathroom sounds lovely. I'm sure Mrs Suggs really appreciates the effort you've put in. And Mummy Suggs will be overjoyed with something from hotel chocolat, mine always is! I generally get her gifts mailed to her though otherwise i find that i might as well have something for myself at the same time, after all i don't have to pay for postage. . . . .0
