:hello: everyone especially the newbies (Mike, Aime, Krazychick and anyone else I've missed.
Consultant I no longer work at PGI as have sciatica and back problems. ( seem to spend more time there now than when I worked...)
Hope your biopsy went ok. I worked in theatres and we had to wear the soft clogs which were the most comfortable things ever...but the smell in the changing rooms after a long days shift:eek: :rotf
It's started peeing it down here and I have to take DS to footie soon, * wonders if the pitch will be close to carpark*
victory you have done so well so far, dont let the clothing manufacturers get you down:mad: My mum took three sizes of the same trousers into a changing room fri, in one colour a 16 fitted her but inthe other it was a 18...
Mike know what you mean about food man, hubbies works for a well known soft drink maker and won' t let the kids touch it now...:o
Not so good this weekend but hey things can only get better...( or in the case of my footie team, WORSE):wall:
Gotta get dressed now and "help" ( read coerce, shout, yell, scream ) DS's do homework:eek:

Hi
I'd like to re-join please
I've been on weightloss journey for some years - I have a lot to lose ! - I had lost 5 stones, but really struggled over last year and one stone has crept back on. I've not been consistent,a nd have let too many good habits slip. I've got to take serious action and get back into the losing habit pronto.
I have no wheat ( allergy ) and feel better on low Gycemic index diet. porridge, lentil soup, lots of protein, brown basmati etc. it's got to be a whole lifestyle thing, not just a temporary diet.
I've got low thryoid and think it's more than co-incidence that I've gained a stone since stopping Armour thryoid. I am seeing Doc about restarting on it.
I am loathe to make any big goals, as failure isn't motivating ! I'd love to shift the regained stone, that would be big achievement. for the time being, my aim is just to get into the right mindset and healthy habits.
I've packed away stash of birthday chocs in the cupboard to share at Easter. :easter_ba0 -
welcome blue_kat and other newbies. Hope you find this thread as helpful and supportive as i have (and still do!)
Mike, on the topic of herbal tea (which personally i love!) have you tried peppermint tea?? much nicer than any of the herbal/fruit teas, tastes like tea but a bit minty (rather than milk/sugar)...it's like the menthol cigarette of teas!! V good for you too, digestion-wise and is caffeine free.Moneysavinghopeful :rotfl:0 -

Hellooooooooo, we'll have to have a big gathering at Xscape one day!
Do you live in Leeds?
Welcome back bluekat. You will have problems losing weight when you've got a thyroid problem, but as you say, you can still get back into the healthy eating habits you had whilst losing the 5 stone - an amazing achievement by the way!! We're here to help, so if you need anything just shout
Been out and about visiting my OHs one remaining uncle (86 and living alone). Then went out for lunch - carvery (lovely and very SWish) then the dessert menu came around and I succumbed to a knickerbockerglory - is there any hope????????I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
peppermint and calamine together is nice, 2 teabags in one mug.
and I'm not a herbal tea fan.
thanks for the welcomes:)
yes there is hope consultant, as long as it's just one pudding and you get straight back on the plan.
I read somewhere that going out for meals is one of the biggest triggers for diet-breaking. lots of temptation, and psychological conditioniong too.
definately a bit of uphill struggle losing weight with low thyroid, but gotta do the right thing anyway, as otherwise will just gain, and hey healthy eating is good0 -
Thank you each and every one of you for your lovely kind words about my disaster shopping trip yesterday:D
I went again today....determination.... looked in different shops as you all said...found a pair of jeans that fitted (o.k they are a bit tight:eek: ) but they are a size.........16:j :j Obviously I bought them for that reason more than anything:rotfl: :rotfl: but also the young girl said they look smashing....sold:T :rotfl:
I have worn them all day and the circulation is slowly getting back to my feet:rotfl: :rotfl:
I will wear them until they fall off me:D0 -
Great great result Victory.

can someone explain to me about the 2 pound club?
love Loraine x x x
Hi Loraine - I keep a chart of all the members in the 2 pound weight loss club, and update it each Monday evening. If you don't attend a slimming club, make Monday your regular day to weigh yourself, and post the result on the thread and I'll add it to the list. If you do attend a slimming club, post your weight loss on whichever day you go, and I'll add it to the next chart.
Good luck!
