Victory was being lovely to me, as I was in a bit of a mess earlier, I had just come back from visiting a close freind whom is very ill with breast cancer and explained how i had been crying all afternoon, and it made me realise life can pass you by if you are not careful, my son had come out of the school doors and I had realised how fortunate that i am to have two smashing children and that my freinds mum was facing losing her fantastic daughter and there was nothing we can do.:A :j0

I lost 1lb in class this week too,:A :j0

Karren, I'm so sorry, that's dreadful. There's nor a lot anyone can say to make such a situation better, but I'll be thinking of your friend and wishing her all the luck in the world.
It's sad that it takes a tragedy like this to make the rest of us realise how fortunate we are, but I guess that's natures way of protecting us.
Suggs, thanks for that link, it was fascinating.
Had a buzzing group tonight and find it difficult to wind down afterwards, but got to go to bed cos I'm up early in the morning. Night, night!I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
suggs, thanks for the link, v entertaining. blue man group looks excellent i really want to see them.
must be strange to listen to in the gym though!
my workout music is usually by the band 3 doors down who are a bit 'rock' and seem to make my feet move faster than other music. I also download podcasts of comedians, which makes the time pass but makes me look crazy as i chuckle to myself on the crosstrainer!!!Moneysavinghopeful :rotfl:0 -
A friend/work colleague has just been diagnosed with breast cancer and she is being so positive it makes my whinging seem so trivial. I had a scare a few years ago (having gone to the docs about something totally unrelated, suggested I got examined and found a lump - I went to pieces) and those few weeks not knowing were horrendous. I don't know how I would have coped if it had been malignant. It made me realise I needed to live life for the moment but I guess over time I've forgotten what I felt like then.
My friend being diagnosed and her positive attitude towards it all makes our goal of losing weight seem so insignificant in many ways, and also something we can control and should get on with. Not always that simple though.
On a more positive note, had another good day (although included a bite size piece of flapjack and tiniest slither - almost crumbs really! - of lemon drizzle cake which DD brought home) and have flown round the house keeping busy and doing chores so now feel good all round because I have a tidy and clean house (doesn't happen very often but hopefully in the future.....)
Off to bed now - feeling a bit peckish so the only safe place to be, especially as my neighbours gave us a box of luxury choccie biscuits. Fortunately both DD and I have given up chocolate for Lent (I've done it to help the diet really) so have hidden them in the cupboard. Of course I say 'hidden' but I know where they are....
Night all.Proud to be dealing with my debts0 -
Hi Everyone,
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but my mum really badly needs to lose weight and has been going to Scottish Slimmers for the last few months and she's just not losing anything. She's also finding it hard to get to the classes as she has to miss some due to work and then gets charged double the next week which is pretty steep since it's £5 a class. So she's thinking of joining Tesco Diets and I was just wondering what people thought of it as she has asked me to have a look at it. It looks not bad to me but I'm no expert and would appreciate any input from people who have used it.
Also I've seen from old threads that you could get 1000 clubcard points for joining this - is this still available? I also saw people could go through quidco but can't find it listed on quidco so I guess that's gone now. The 1000 points would be great though for deals (the only thing is would it be ok to use my clubcard to get them on as my mum doesn't use deals?) Also if she chooses one of the plans and decides she'd like to try another can you swap?
Thanks for any help.
Regards
Michelle:hello: :hello: :hello:0 -
Hi mleonard. I'm sorry I can't help you, but I would have thought you may get more replies from an open question in the "I wanna" board (that is, not linked to another thread).
However, if your Mum would like to continue with her books from Scottish Slimmers, she could always post on here to get the support she needs. We're a really friendly bunch and I'm sure we have a Scottish Slimmer member among our number.
Show Mum the thread and she if she thinks it would help her
I've got to rush off this morning with my younger daughter, since it seems there's been a bit of a disaster with the wedding arrangements. One of the bridesmaids went for a dress fitting yesterday and apparently they've made the wrong dress  .I let my mind wander and it never came back!0
