Suggs - good luck at the consultant - hope you get the all clear. DH has to see his consultant in the next few weeks and is hoping to get the same.

    Hiya

Just a quicky, very busy today. Hospital visit went went well, Consultant was happy with my progress and doesnt expect to see me again for a few years to come :j I have gymm'd it all this week, so the knee was heavily used, therefore if I passed, I knew I passed :j There is amethod to my madness, dont you know.

There is some heavy wear at the top of the top, partly due to weight and partly down to the injury. Hopefully it wont get any worse for quite some time to come.

Lets hope Honey, your OH gets some similar good news in the next few weeks

Right time to celebrate - err down the gym anybody? :) and No I have not been on the scales in Boots :)

Good news Suggs, Glad to hear it went well. Enjoy the gym :)
  • Victory - I was wincing as I read about your ear. Hope you're feeling better now.

    Mel - wow 5lbs. That's great.

I feel a bit of a fraud being on here at the moment. Had far too much wine and food last night (out with a friend catching up) and felt awful today, although the good side of that is I felt so rough I couldn't eat much! I managed to get to the gym but not do very much.

I'm a teacher and on half term this week so although I'm trying to keep an eye on what I'm eating the lack of routine and increased socialising has meant everything has gone completely out of the window (not that I was doing brilliantly before!) so I am thinking next week will be the one to really go back at it with a vengeance before our trip to Oz at Easter.

Think I will join the 'backontrack' club with Petrichor :D

Right date number 2 tonight (more alcohol I guess  so off to sort myself out and make myself look beautiful :o

Hi all, hope the ear better victory! Went for chinese buffet for lunch and was good, but did eat a lot of olives i ate about 125 cal worth but its still better than the duck pancakes i wanted to eat! Had chicken and sweetcorn soup to star, chicken noodles and veg stir fry then pinapples , melon, banana and tinned pears, usually I just eat what I like so thought I was pretty good.
am going to watch calorie intake for rest of week to balance it all out, and swimming with children every day so that must be better exercise than sitting on my bum all day! which is what i prefer to do, well good luck everyone for the coming week!
    :A :j
  • SuzieW, try making a list of all the reasons you want to lose weight and all the things that stop you. When your list is long enough, go through the reasons for not doing it (eg want to socialise) and you will see that there is always a way to be able to do what you want to do (eg alternate alcholic drinks with 'diet' sodas), while still losing weight.
Realise that it's not will power which makes a successful slimmer, it's choice power - you choose what (and how much) you put in your mouth, and it's relatively easy to make the right choices if you want to do it enough.

We all have to make a commitment to losing weight and planning in advance helps to stop us wavering at the first obstacle, so plan your meals and snacks for the next few days.

Don't think of this as a diet, it's a healthy eating plan which you will want to stick to for ever, so don't even try to cut out all your favourite treats - make sure you incorporate them into whatever plan you're following, so that every day you can look forward to a glass of wine, or choccy biscuit or whatever it is you specially like.

Life will inevitably get in the way, but you need to see that as a (very) temporary blip, and get straight back to your plan as soon as possible.

You can do it, but you have to make the commitment to look after yourself and your health.

Katmad, most SW recipes can be faffed around with and if you don't want the cottage cheese, leave it out........it's just that I like mine BIG, so tend to chuck in a bit of everything. Let me know if you enjoy it!!

Victory, poor you, it must be awful. I have the utmost sympathy for anyone with earache (or toothache), they're just the most miserable pains to have. I do hope you're much better as soon as it's removed. You're right about appreciating your life once the illness has gone. I often think it does me good to be ill now and then so that I realise how lucky I am to be well, lol.

    Mel, brilliant loss, well done!

Suggs, congrats on the clean bill of health, bet you feel great!

Nadiner, welcome to the Lose Weight thread, I'm sure someone will be along who can help you with your requests (sorry I don't do WW, so I can't help).

ThriftyK - good luck with the date - let us know if he's the one :D

Karren - the exercise will help, and at least olives are good for your heart!
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Just had to send DS upstairs after he refused to eat any tea because it was too cold, and he did'nt want it microwaved:confused: I said it would have been hot if he's eaten it when I first shouted instead of playing on computer for 10 more minutes.... One argument later, and no computer tomorrow!!! I just love half term:rotfl:

I'm just embarking on No Count (not having been successfull on Points, kept losing and putting on the same 4lbs) - like it much better. But can anyone tell me whether smoked haddock and/or mackerel are allowed, and also whether anyone else uses soya milk instead of milk when cooking? Is it successful?

I tend to keep off the smoked fish as it higher points than ordinary fish. Something to do with the processing. Not sure if it is allowed on No Count (now called Core and changed slightly), but I find the ordinary fish just as tasty.

I use unsweetend soya milk, but just in porridge. I don't cook with milk, apart from porridge. I prefer it to semi skimmed milk and it isn't from cows which is healthier for us.

RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

Aww what a poorly lot we are.
Victory I hope the ear is better and it wasn't too painfull to get it drained. I get ear infections so easily a fan in a bedroom can do it got me.
Well done Mel that is a great loss must really motivate you to carry on. Something I could do with.

I am still reall bad lots of biscuits, cheese, fatty dinner etc etc the only thing I have been good about it the wine. I had 3 or 4 glasses last Friday, nothing Saturday, 2 glasses Sunday, Monday none, Tuesday 1 1/2, Wednesday none, Thursday none but might have 1 or 2 tonight. Hopefully that will make up for the bad food and snacks.

Was due to go to the gym Wednesday got all changed but then they called to say my class had been cancelled and although I am booked in for Monday I cant go as I am away with work.

Why is it so hard to motivate yourself mayby I need a new goal or target and a treat if I reach it.
Take care all and try to be good.
