Hi all:D need masses of sympathy this morning;) I went to the hospital yesterday to have my ear drained of its infection... the ENT specialist showed me a tiny white thing, she said she was going to insert into my ear and it would hurt...I had my arms tightly crossed as I lay there and all of a sudden this nurse ran over and held my hands down:eek: When the doctor inserted it then I knew why she had done that:rotfl: The pain...oh the pain...

I have to go back tomorrow to have it taken out, when I woke this morning, I thought I had been shot in the ear:rotfl: :rotfl:

Can't hear anything which my DS thinks is hilarious and is milking it:rotfl:

I am in agony, feel so utterly drained, the pain being all consuming if this continues on Monday I would have lost loads:rotfl: :rotfl:

Such an awful way to loose weight!!

To each and every one of you that feels under the weather, I wish you a speedy recovery, it is not nice being ill is it?

Oh well, at least when the pain goes I will appreciate my life and my lot even more than I do now:rotfl: :rotfl: or I will just resentfully spend ages trying to get the house back in order with house-work as my 2 DS and DH don't believe in it, so due to the ear it has fallen by the wayside:rotfl: :rotfl:

I did a very naughty thing (I blame Suggs - he started it :rotfl:) and jumped on the scales mid week.

Hope all ok victory, I cringed reading about the poorly ear, sounded like a babbel fish was been inserted :o

Im off to the consultant, for the final knee checkup (hopefully) hopefully nothing painful will be inserted!

Well done Mel, Thats a fantastic first week, you must be chuffed and rightly so :T

Victory - ouch, that sounds sooo painful you have my every sympathy. I hope it starts to get better soon, forget about the housework until you are fit - it will be there long after you so dont worry about it until you are well. Thats my motto anyway :rotfl:

Suggs - good luck at the consultant - hope you get the all clear. DH has to see his consultant in the next few weeks and is hoping to get the same.
  • victory that ear thing sounds awful! I hope you feel better soon. I too have a potato fetish consultant, especially cold new potatoes. I cooked a full bag this morning and left them to cool so i can snarf them down when I get in from work tonight. I keep hearing good things about these high fibre crackerbreads but I CANNOT find them anywhere! And i visit 13 different supermarkets for work every single month! Good luck with the desserts - i found out something for desserts that be useful - i've tried a few different mousse type recipes that have powdered gelatine in them and everything turns out looking like snot. And having the texture of snot too. Apparently leaf gelatine is much easier to use and 4 leaves equals 1 sachet. They are both enough to set 600ml aor 1 pint of liquid.

I think my OH is trying to fatten me up! I've confronted him regarding this and he denies it but he bought me a huge box of chocolates for valentines day which was lovely and nice as a treat. But then yesterday he bought me another box of chocolates cos 'they were on offer'. And he can't even eat them as he hates dark chocolate so I had to eat them all.

But from friday until monday I ate virtually nothing as I was feeling so ill. I managed half a bacon sandwich on friday and that was it. Saturday the other half of the bacon sandwich, sunday two potatoes some spinach and one slice of meat and all day monday was a fish finger sandwich. Normally when I'm ill and can't eat I put weight on (?) but I had lost 2lb as of tuesday. More than that my clothes feel quite a bit looser and I do look a bit slimmer.
  • I'm just embarking on No Count (not having been successfull on Points, kept losing and putting on the same 4lbs) - like it much better. But can anyone tell me whether smoked haddock and/or mackerel are allowed, and also whether anyone else uses soya milk instead of milk when cooking? Is it successful?
