Morning all!
Not had a chance to catch up on posts yet, but will try to pop in later. Just wanted to confess that I was a BAD GIRL yesterday!
A colleague of mine left a few months ago to open up a portugese bakery in town. He opened yesterday, and bought a sample of the produce into the office for us - well it would have been rude not to partake wouldn't it?
Anyhow, I really hope it hasn't affected this weeks loss too much, although I'm not holding my breath - the pastry was delicious!!!
Must dash now as I'm late for work - will have to cycle that much quicker and burn off the extra calories!!!0 -
Good morning all,
I am def going to try the crackerbread, the kids and I love the rice crackers they go down a storm but it is always nice to try something different....
I have had the most horrendously painful ear infection for the last three days, spent most of it crying and groaning in pain...off to the docs again in an hour (hoping they will drain it) I have been through child-birth twice but this pain:D
The good side is I have had very little to eat but like the OP said about wishing for an illness to loose weight....I would not recommend it:D0 -
Morning all.
Gosh when I miss reading the posts on a Tuesday, there's always loads to catch up on.
MidgetKaren I was spitting feathers reading about the theft of your bike - and twice in 6 months, it makes my blood boil. When are the Government going to realise that cutting back on the police force and installing those cameras with the grainy pictures doesn't work. Neither does the softly, softly approach when they do catch somebody - a slap on the wrist and told not to do it again  . OOh, I'd better jump down off this soapbox before I burst!
Honey, I hope your Consultant told you that it's the high fibre Crackerbread you need, not the ordinary ones (it's the fibre that makes them a HEB). They are lovely and light, I really like them, but I'd never have thought of having them warmed, so thanks for the info. One thing I would recommend with them though - don't spread them with anything until you're ready to eat or they go limp very quickly.
Jojilufc, if you still want the lasagne recipe, I'm sure I have one somewhere. I'll look it up and post it in the recipe section.
Cheekyweegit, I disagree with ThriftyKate who said boys are harder to bring up than girls. I have one boy and two girls and can honestly say that my son was a 100% easier to manage as a teenager. He was never bothered about going out whereas the girls couldn't wait to be old enough to be out every weekend and once they could go to nightclubs........ jeepers, it's no wonder my hair went grey at an early age, lol. I just thank God that we all came through it with no catastrophies (?) and no horrible memories. It will pass, but you do have my sympathy - I wouldn't want to go back to those times.
Bildanto thank you for sharing your story with us, it's very inspirational. Has losing the weight made any difference to your lipoma? Do have a look in our recipe collection (post 1 and follow the link), you're sure to find something you like. My favourite is Tomato and Basil - very easy to make, and it's free on SW green plan:-
500mls passata
1 red onion
1 red pepper
1 clove of garlic
1 pint of veg stock
Seasoning
1 teaspoon of sweetener
Lots of fresh basil (must be fresh)
Fry the onion and pepper gently in Fry light until they are soft. Add crushed garlic and fry for 1 minute.
Add the sweetener, passata and stock then simmer for about 20 minutes or until it looks a bit thicker. Now add the basil - about half a plant (the ones you get in a supermarket).
Season well then blend it until it is smooth.
Just before serving, stir in a tablespoon of VLF natural yoghurt, this makes it really creamy.
Well done to the people with a weight loss this week and commiserations to the others. Lois I only lost ½lb this week, but please add me onto the list (every ½ counts).
Off to the Doctors now to see if I can get any help to clear up the awful cough the flu bug left behind. Will be back later:wave:I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Bildanto - what an inspiration. You have done so well and make me feel I should really stop messing about and get to grips with this stone I need to lose. Up and down like the proverbial yo yo, that's me!
Victory Hope your ear is a bit better - seem to be a few people not well at the moment. Hope everyone is on the mend and hope you get something to get you sorted consultant. I like the sort of ill that makes me under the weather enough to stay off work, but not feel absolutely lousy, and makes me go off my food. Unfortunately I never seem to get that sort of ill.
Cheekyweegit Maybe it's the thought of 3 teenage boys that horrified me. Coping with one teenager is quite enough for me so I have alot of admiration for someone coping with several!
Thanks for all the interest in my dateHad a really good time (but too much red wine and now feeling a bit rough) and already had a text asking if he can see me Friday. Really nice guy and very attentive but not really sure he's my type (met him on online dating site) so may wait until after Thursday when I have another date with someone else. Hedge my bets a little. However, maybe I should see him again as I tend to fall for the 'bad boys' so perhaps it's time I got to know a 'nice guy'.
Although my dieting efforts are up and down, I have really got into the gym and feel so much better for that, which has done wonders for my self esteem. Also starting to do something about my debts has helped as well - feel in control for the first time in ages.
Will keep you up to date with the dating and the dieting :rotfl:Proud to be dealing with my debts0 -

Afternoon all
Been ill for the last 2 days with food poisoning. Went out for a chinese meal on Monday night and ate some dodgy prawns by all accounts.
Still havent eaten anything today, although am now keeping water down.
Anyone have any ideas what I can eat thats light and thats not going to start me puking up (or sitting on the loo) for the rest of the day ?Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0 -
Hi ice, sorry to read that you've been ill as well, this must be the poorliest thread!.
I found that the best thing for me is simple dry toast and a cup of tea are usually the first things to stay down and strangely enough I've found that salted peanuts stop me from feeling sick, no idea why but it works for me.
Don't know if this will help but I hope that you'll be back to your perky self tomorrow.
xxxxI wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latterbut my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

Sorry ur feeling ill Ice (dry toast is good food for a dodgy tummy, or some plain boiled white rice -v easy to digest) and to everyone else who is a bit poorly at the mo, i wish you all a speedy recovery!
MidgetKaren - i'm sorry to hear about your bike, i would be so outraged if that happened to me! Are you going to get another one? new or 2nd hand? (freecycle? bootsale? second hand bike shop?!) And get some big strong chains!!
Bildanto - Wow what a story, you are very brave and have done so well, you and your family must be so proud.
My day has gone very well, been up to uni and to the gym, my legs ache so much, but hey at least it means it's making a difference!
had a boiled egg for brekkie at 8 (so rarely get up in time for real breakfast i felt i should have something 'proper', normally i just munch on toast while i rush up to a lecture!) which was lovely! and a mid lecture snack at about 10.30 of a cereal bar which isnt the best but i need the energy to get me to the gym and prevent me going home and vegging out on the sofa!
Just had water crackers and lovely spreadable cheese for lunch, and HM honey and mulitseed flapjack, but i'm forgiving myself the fat (in the cheese) and the sugar (in the flapjack) as I walked to&from Uni (20mins each way) and used the cross trainer, running, rowing and stepper (which i am scared of and usually fall off a lot, but managed 10 minutes before i felt ill!) then came home and did 160 sit ups - ouch!!!
Got to think of something lovely for dinner to feed me and my bf that uses new potatoes, i have lots of them and not much of anything else! any ideas welcome. got no meat out so will have to be some kind of bake maybe or just lots of baby jacket potatoes!! my poor bf has to eat some strange things!!Moneysavinghopeful :rotfl:0 -
