    HI

Thanks for all the welcomes - sorry didn't come back after I went off to weigh myself!

Well done to those who've lost - very motivating! I'm a bit more than I thought I would be, but not by loads - am now (deep breath!!) 12st0.5lbs :( (I'm 5 7 ish)

But this does mean that my target for next Weds weigh in is just a lb. I'm off to my sisinlaws this weekend which will involve her food and mucho wine, but if I try to stop being such a pig I hope to achieve this! I'll attempt to be more active as well which should help- I hurt my back really badly after a session at the gym six weeks ago so am a bit nervous about this.

    Sea xx

We are pretty much the same weight and height - I weighed myself on Monday morning and was 12stone and am about 5 7. I therefore lay down the gauntlet - do you accept the challenge :rotfl:

I am feeling quite positive at the moment, had another scrummy tea tonight and went shopping MSE style to Aldi's earlier and got lots of fresh fruit and veg.

As a really nice treat after my tea, I had a small tin of pineapple chunks, covered them in a peach low fat fromage frais and then crumbled a rich tea biscuit over the top - only 2.5 points and was lovely!

I meant to ask - when you are supposed to drink so many glasses of water a day - is it 8? And if it is, does this include cups of tea. I have drank 7 glasses of water today and had 3 cups of tea. The only problem I am having is needing to go to wee all the time - (damn childbirth, things will never be the same again!).

    Hi!
    I'm new on here too!
I need to lose 15kg to get into my healthy BMI range...not easy as I love eating, cooking and baking...:o

I'm doing the Slimming World 7 day trial menu from their website.

I wondered if anyone here could help me with these questions:

    1. on green days grains are free but bread isn't...yet bread = wheat = grain...can anyone explain this please? Does it mean that bulghur and couscous aren't free either (being wheat)?

    2. how many syns are: butter; chocolate; a croissant?

    3. Joining (online in my case) is quite expensive (20quid a month). Is it worth it? Is it absolutely necessary to join to make it work?

    4. do you have to alternate Green and Red days? Just wondering as that is how the 7 day trial is presented.

    thank you very much.

welcome all the newbies... it is 8 glasses of water or more if you can each day....the water is brilliant for detoxing, better skin, giving your body time to distinguish between hunger or thirst, water makes you loose weight that is free, calorie free and great for you:D

If you are on WW and not seeing the results...are you able to talk to your consultant? Write a food diary? (everything you eat and drink in a day as you eat or drink it so you don't forget it at the end of the day)

Gpuk fabulous result...put a pound of weight (butter, pots etc) in your kitchen and keep looking at it and pick it up...that is how much you have lost!! Put also a sign in your kitchen telling you how much you have lost...above your oven or a photo of you when you were slimmer for motivation and realise you are going to look like that again..you did it before...you are going to be thin, healthy and will be proud of your achievements....you are your best friend and you will be who you want to be xx

trikerbiker... Paul Mackenna says when you pass the sausage rolls or a lovely smell as we all do imagine in your mind that it has fallen to the floor and is covered in horrible hairs and grim and is no longer tasty and yummy....that and also he does the tapping on the face...center forhead, just under the eye (you would have to see his show or borrow his book from the library for his exact tapping system) and that is supposed to take the urge for the sausage roll away...hey anything is worth a try!!

Kate change every negative to a positive...firstly get rid of the biscuits, all the stuff that tempts you and do not have it in the house or buy it in the first place....find a photo of you that you love and put it somewhere you can see it...visualize yourself thinner with a healthy BMI, think of the fab clothes you could buy, how great the bikini will fit in the summer, how active you can be with your 5 year old....

Someone asked about motivation...to reduce BMI, be healthy, look and feel good, buy lovely clothes, keep up with the kids, not be left behind anymore because cannot keep up, the bikini in the summer, lovely summer dresses and not have to keep trailing the shops to find one that fits, to be here for the kids with health...

Bulghur and couscous are free providing they aren't ground or used as a flour substitute.

Bread is definitely not free due to it containing flour, etc. but you can have 57g of wholemeal as a Healthy Extra (about 2 slices of a small loaf)

    2. how many syns are: butter; chocolate; a croissant?

10g butter 3.5 syns, 1 level tsp margarine 2 syns (assuming full fat it depends what you use)

    28g chocolate 7.5 syns (plain 7 syns)

    croissant (50g standard) 10.5
    3. Joining (online in my case) is quite expensive (20quid a month). Is it worth it? Is it absolutely necessary to join to make it work?

You could try doing it on your own and coming on here for support but you could do with having the books first. It might be worth going to a class just to get the books and an explanation of how it works then at least you've got the basics.
    4. do you have to alternate Green and Red days? Just wondering as that is how the 7 day trial is presented.

You can have whichever days you want in any order, the 7 day trial is just an example. You might find it useful to buy the magazine as well.
    thank you very much.

Hope that helps - consultant would probably do a better job at explaining and I'm sure she will later.

    Hi all,

Welcome to all the new people.

I didn't put up my weight this week as I stayed the same for the 3rd week running and to be quite honest I was ab it miffed.

However I know for a fact that my body shape is changing. Snug fitting trousers are now falling down and blouses no longer strain at the buttons or pinch the arms. So onwards and upwards I say.

The watching the calorie counter at the gym has been a real eye opener, I realise now I was just plodding along doing my 40 minutes I now go hard at it trying to increase the calories burned and finish before then.

Yesterday I went to my first ever pilates class. I rather foolishly thought it would be a nice relaxing break between gym sessions. Silly me. The instructor is a former ballet dancer and doesn't let anyone slack off at all. I definitely would have taken it easier if it wasn't for her style of teaching. Today I'm aching in places I never knew existed, but I'm definitely going back for more

Sorry, I'm back now, can I still join in? I've had a reasonably healthy day so far:
    - Breakfast - Shreddies with soya milk
    - Lunch - WW Tomato soup with 2 slices of wholemeal bread :)

Hi every one :hello:....... I have decided to lift my head out of the sand today and get a grip!!

Jan - Sept 06 I lost 4st with SW and felt great....... got rid of all the 'fat' clothes' ........ then maintained at just under 13st until beginning of Dec when things began to go wrong.

I have moved house to live near my daughter and new house needs quite some renovation. I can't really begin much needed full time work, I am a singleton, until I get the building work out of the way. After that every room will need redecorating, carpeting and furnishing.

Problem is I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with it all....... we all know what it is like trying to source builder etc.......... so have put back 20lb'ish due to procrasinating and bingeing rather than getting on with the work.

Most of the new clothes don't fit......... the weather is improving so I can't wear my decorating clothes hidden under a coat forever, and what could I wear if I got a job??.......... I'm beginning to be a bit breathless again..... started badminton end of last year, but haven't been back since Christmas hols.......... so...... today is the day!!

SW 'green days' suited me best, started last year by eating bucket loads of free veg, cottage cheese, pulses and fruit until I began to 'need' less. I am convinced that processed foods mask your body hunger signals IYSWIM.

OK....... long intro over........... here I am 14st 8lb by my new scales (not sure how they compare with SW's)......can't afford to go back to classes but we all know how to do it, don't we? ........ it's just doing it !! With your support I just know that I can get back on track

Please, please can I join you all in the 2lb club ?????? .................. now where is that wall paper scraper?

stilernn, sounds like a huge challenge you've taken on but a very satisfying one. Good luck with the house. Big welcome to all the others who have appeared over the last day or so - were we in the weekly email or something? I have finally managed to get myself back into the gym - not only last night but also this morning before work! Also tried doing that calorie thing and found it very motivating so I shall continue with that. Has anyone on here ever done pole dancing classes at the gym? MY gym offers them but you have to pay extra. However, they might kickstart me into going as it's a bit different and hopefully fun. Anyone any experience of them? Oh and I can't remember who was talking about cheese - try using parmesan. It takes so long to grate a HEA of the blimmin stuff you're bound to use less. I thought I was being really profligate with it but when I weighed it it turned out i was only using about 15g.
