Hello all
Have a lovely meal Sammieis it somewhere fancy you are going?
It was the Santa parade in our town today so we took Aiden. He loved looking at all the floats but it did get a bit too cold and we couldnt cross to the other side so we just had to go into starbucks for some coffee and fruit toast! Aiden loves thier fruit toast
We then had our first viewing on the house this afternoon. They seemed to like it but who knows.
Aidens sleeved sleeping bag came today, good job as our cars are frozen.over already.
Hope everyone is well. Katie, hope you find a weaning way that works for youI suppose Aiden is a bit of both? For lunch he has teacakes, pitta breads etc but tea time he has what we have had just mushed.
Pizza for my tea...yummy!!
Btw, Aiden hasnt had pizza mushed up! He had spag bol.

That's really helpful gilly, thanks very much

No problem
If you're on facebook there is BLW group and everyone is so nice and helpful, no question goes un-answered
Being prepared for a choking incident is the best way to be, whether you puree feed or BLW there is a chance it could happen, so best to be armed with the knowledgeIn fact BLW actually have less chance of choking than Puree-ing and finger foods as it can become confusing for them if they have some things they can just swallow and then others they have to work on. Also the younger they start with big bits of food the better as the older they get the further the gag reflex moves down. It really is fab, I was fascinated in the beginning that he could eat so much on his own, it is truly amazing to watch. If you have any questions or anything feel free to ask me
I don't know loads but I'll always try to help x

Morning ladies
Nutella - hope your plan worked and little one slept well.
DP has booked a table at a restaraunt tonight and arranged for his dad and step mum to come over and look after the kids. It's the first time I have left Noah so I'm getting worried now, I don't want to go! I know we will only be gone a couple of hours but I will miss him!
Xx
Oooh, hope you have a lovely time. We are supposed to be leaving Theo with my mom for a few hours next Friday afternoon whilst we go to a beer festival that we usually go to every year (I won't have much beer obviously). Whilst I think it will do me & DH the world of good to have some time on our own, Theo will only be 11 weeks and I'm nervous about leaving him. Not sure I'll be able to do it!
I've ordered a jumperoo for Theo's Christmas present. Got it from Tesco Direct and doubled up my clubcard vouchers so it only cost us £33 in the end. Had to get Love U Zoo as Rainforest was out of stock but I'm sure he'll love it.0 -
Oh don't even ask about weight Nutella, still at 1st 10lb off, I've lost more and put more on, with friends visiting, going home to family etc. At least I'm still back on an even keel. What did you make
You're doing really well though - I know how hard it is with relatives etc. Christmas will be a real test this year - we'll be at my parents' for three weeks and there'll be chocolate and cake everywhere
I made the tomato and lentil linguine from their Oct/Nov magazine (can't find the receipe online, guess it's too new) - it was soooo yummy! I needed to use up some ricotta sitting in the fridge - I'd bought it to make avocado, aspargus and ricotta mash for LO, but with her dodgy tummy we're staying away from all dairy except yoghurt, so I had to find a suitable receipe and eat it myself0 -

It's so hard being at home all day too I think, if I had a proper routine, I think it'd help, would be easier if I only had 1 hour for lunch. In my old job you couldn't eat except at lunch and break times, so if I refrained in those times that would be it. Whereas right now I feel like I'm having to stop myself all the time. We live slap bang in the city, so many cafes/delis/coffee shops right on my doorstep as well as Tesco etc, it's just so hard at times, I really should have more will power though can't blame all of that because I'm a big greedy pigThe frontier is never somewhere else. Pretty terrible night to be honest
lost count of how many times we were up. But it meant he was shattered and slept the whole way home so I didn't have to stop. Just about unpacked now, G was very happy to see his daddy
Has your LO still got diarrhoea? Poor thing, hope it clears up soon.
Sammie enjoy your night out! Noah will be fine!
I've been reading my blw book, its quite interesting but very "blw is the only way to go", not balanced at all and I think there are pros and cons to both blw and purees. For the time being we've got a few jars to get through (which he loves!) so having those with finger foods, may go 100% blw once they're all gone.
Boo to a bad night, hope George sleeps well in his own bed tonight.
Her diarrhoea has stopped, but I'm not holding my breath as we've been doing half-strength milk bottles again (GP recommended to try that again if no improvement), and when we did that on Monday it also stopped, but then it came back as soon as we went back to normal full-strength milk... But I've been tweaking the doctor's advice this time - doing it for 24 hours instead of 12, and will gradually be reintroducing stronger milk rather than suddenly going back to full strength + giving her more solids after researching what to feed a baby with diarrhoea. She didn't want any solids at all for a few days, but today she's eaten loads - banana and yoghurt for breakfast, carrot and parsnip for dinner. I really really hope this is it - it's been so tiring for everyone and I've felt so bad for herplus I'm getting cabin fever from keeping her away from other babies - had to cancel two lunches and stay away from my exercise class and swimming twice...
Re. BLW, pros and cons - I've got this book: www.amazon.co.uk/Weaning-Made-Easy-feeding-baby-led/dp/1905410697. It's quite useful, albeit quite wordy - it talks about the different approaches to weaning and the advantages and disadvantages to both, as well as ways of combining the two. Might be worth considering if you're finding your book too brainwashy?...0 -

Don't be so harsh on yourselfWill you be going back to work?
At home, the only thing that works for me is having no unhealthy snacks in the house. Thankfully OH isn't into biscuits and all that, so we don't have any - although I did buy some just after LO was born for when visitors came round for coffee. I found them in the kitchen drawer the other day - they expired in September! I chop up carrots in the evenings (see, my life's just as exciting as yours!) and snack on them during the day with the 50 kcal Sainsbury's mini hummous pots - they're great0
