We live slap bang in the middle of the city center, so there aren't much baby groups etc around here :( it's mostly just business' at this end and shops at the other. We don't have a car so not even possible to go other places. Public transport here isn't great for it being a city :(

We are hoping to go back home, with regards to someone looking after him, not really all my relatives are well below retirement age and still work full time or are so old they're not well enough to do it. My OH would be working mon-fri - 8-6 or similar so here is scope for me to get weekend and evening work, which I can't do atm as my OH's shifts are all over the place.

I am so thankful I don't have to make the choice though, and that I do have this time with him. I just think now I feel a bit sorry for myself :o I know I'll look back when he's independent and grown up and think why the hell did I feel like this :o
Maybe just focus on the fact that you are with him full time :)

Sounds difficult re no groups and transport struggles etc. Could you make regular playdates with your friends at wkends?

I am sure when ever it is that you move home, everything will just fall into place. Whether thats working or not. xx

How do you find baby sales? I dont think there are any near me!

Oh and I always wanted to be a hairdresser lol...ruined many barbie dolls practising!

I saw some flyers in our local leisure centre about the baby sales. We have "little pickles markets" and "kids klobber" here, they are in different places each week but all local. We are going to a little pickles market tomorrow which is also at a different venue next weekend. I love going to look around, they are fab for bargains. I wish I had known about them when I was pregnant, could of saved so much money.

I also used to cut my dolls hair :D you wouldn't think I was a hairdresser with my hair! I do like the dip dye look though at the moment so considering that. :D

    Morning

I like the dip dye hair too. I think my hair is a bit too fine for that though.

Aidens just woke up which is good. He was really snug in his new sleeping bag.

Its so cold here, need to run down and click the heating on but cant be bothered!

Wow Noah decided to lie in until 8.45 this morning! :D
Better get on with the washing as it seems a never ending pile. :(

Sunshine - I have to go upstairs to turn my heating on and I can be bothered either!

  • Morning ladies. Nice lie in sammie! Glad you had a nice night with OH. G was up 4 times. Going to try him in size 4 nappies overnight tonight, size 3s are fine for in the day but I think he's getting a bit uncomfy for long periods which isn't helping his sleeping. That's the theory anyway! :o

Hope you're feeling a bit better this morning Gilly? I think motherhood is always going to make you doubt yourself, no matter what you do. I bet there's loads of mums who would like to be able work from home with their LO like I do, but I'm worrying that he's going to be missing out on meeting other littles by not going to nursery...never right! I guess on that front I'm better off as there is a good range of baby groups near us.

Pretty terrible night to be honest :( lost count of how many times we were up. But it meant he was shattered and slept the whole way home so I didn't have to stop. Just about unpacked now, G was very happy to see his daddy :p

Has your LO still got diarrhoea? Poor thing, hope it clears up soon.

Sammie enjoy your night out! Noah will be fine!

I've been reading my blw book, its quite interesting but very "blw is the only way to go", not balanced at all and I think there are pros and cons to both blw and purees. For the time being we've got a few jars to get through (which he loves!) so having those with finger foods, may go 100% blw once they're all gone.

    Which book do you have?

  • Being a mum is hard, sometimes you just don't know what to do for the best. I am going back to work for 3 or 4 days when Niall is 11 months, I would love not to go back to work but we can't afford it. I will also be doing my nutritional therapy business which is what i am passionate about.

Niall has been a nightmare to get to sleep the past few days, has been taking about 3 hours of crying feeding rocking etc just realised that we stopped his wind medication about a week ago so that's probably the reason! Might start the colief up again he is 14 weeks so not sure if he will grow out of this in the next few weeks.

Put him in sleepbag for the first time tonight, he looks so cute. Dh has just got him to sleep, going to attempt the put down in a couple of minutes.

    This one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Baby-led-Weaning-Helping-Your-Baby/dp/0091923808

I'm still on the first bit about the theory being blw, which is very interesting, but I just find the language used is a bit ott sometimes and implies that you're potentially damaging your child by doing it any other way. I like to think I can see past the brainwashy aspect of it but it has made me doubt myself a bit, and I think thats really bad in any book to do with parenting - fair enough they have their agenda but I think they should have been a bit more considerate of their audience and the insecurities of new mums.

Anyway *steps down off soapbox* hope everyone's had nice Sundays? We've not done much, got an activity table for G's crimbo present from sainsburys for £5.99!

    Hi Laura

What exactly is the nutritional therapy?

Aidens colic let up about 17 weeks, so maybe Niall will be of a similar age. Was colief the best for you? Dentinox worked quite well for him. I hope it goes away soon for you, I remember how tiring it is.

Had a good cry about returning to work tomorow so hopefully no tears tomorow morning. I will try and pop on here on my phone at lunch as our internet blocks forums, social networks etc. If I cant get on, will post in the eve.
