Afternoon ladies.
Back from all of the appointments now. Consultant says I've been doing all of the right things and he's happy that the palsy is repairing itself. He's referring us to physio as I mentioned it but has referred us to a specialist centre for further assessment in Middlesex! We live on the south coast so this going to be a mission - think we'll have to stay up there as it's such a long journey. It will be in about a month. We also have to go back to see him in February (roughly 3 months' time).
Weigh-in went ok - he's now 10lb 14.5 oz at 4 weeks old! He's 55.9cm long according to the hospital. Health visitor who does breastfeeding group was there and she talked to me about how I was doing and she thiks I may have breast thrush from what I've said, but she can't see any signs in J's mouth. He has been more gassy than usual the last few days and does have some nappy rash so I'm off to buy some acidophilas this avo.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -

Hope the bf improves soon too x

sexymouse glad you were pleased with the appointment outcome today, and well done J on weight gain!
In other news.....I've had an offer from my employer in regards to my tribunal. It's generous, and my solicitor thinks I should accept it - it's enough to pay off both my personal loans, and for me to take an extra 3 months maternity leave (so the full year), and still probably have about £1k left over.
WOW!!!!!!!!
I'm having the weekend to think about it (just in case, to make sure I'm not having a knee-jerk reaction), but wow, wow, and did I say wow?! LOL0 -

Brilliant news, sm. Sounds like things are really starting to improve. Re. the sore nips, they're an inevitability I'm afraid
. Keep slapping on the lansinoh (I went through about three tubes in the early weeks!) - it does get better as your boobs get used to it, and J's latch will get better and better too.

This is great news turtlemoose - I'm so pleased for you after everything you went through with the court case etc. Will it cover all of your legal fees? You don't want to be out of pocket there.
I've bought some acidophilus at Holland & Barrett just in case I do have thrush, and it's not going to do me any harm anyway as it's good for digestion - it may even help Jonathan's tummy too via my milk. The health visitor said that if I'm still having problems on Monday, to go to a different GP and also to call the health visitor's office as they have a lactation consultant who may be able to see me.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -

:j thanks all.
Just rang both companies that I have personal loans with to get settlement figures....by paying them both off early, I'll be saving a total of £906.49 in interest! Even better!!!!! Although paying off the loans takes 2 thirds of the settlement, I won't have them hanging over me any more so when I go back to work, all of my wages are available instead of instantly having to pay £548 a month to the loans!
Plus of course the extra 3 months with Reu...I've been thinking about that lately, thinking February is not so far away and I will miss him etc, and worrying about having to express etc as I want to BF til he's 1.... now I can afford to stay home with him, so I get the extra time AND can BF him much easier. Woop! :j
