Morning all
Thanks gilly, feel a bit better now. He didn't attempt any more rolling until this morning. Only up twice (not including the 10.30 rolling episode) but I feel shattered. Busy day too - toy library, hopefully meeting an old colleague for a cuppa, picking up little sister in law who's staying with us tonight. And somewhere in there got to tidy up and make pizza dough. Think anyone'd notice if I just go back to bed instead?
Right, off to mash some banana.Newborn thread member

I know what you mean about making it worthwhile. Shame it wasn't a 4 bed for you. Have a nice weekend with your nan.

Pleased to hear the weaning is going so well Nutella.
Boo to the poosplosions Aimless - hopefully things will settle down once his digestion gets used to the new foods.
Feeling quite anxious and sad tonight. On the first day after he was born, I was told that Jonathan has possibly got Erb's Palsy. This is the extent of the information I was given. I've since done some research about it, and it seems that it may be a condition that could be lifelong. We are seeing the consultant for the first time tomorrow (he was 4 weeks old on Wednesday), but having read other hospitals' advice leaflets it sounds like we should have been given exercises to do with him since birth! I'm starting to feel worried that we've not been acting on it soon enough, although we've been going to the cranio osteopath for a couple of weeks, which hopefully will have been beneficial. We have another appointment with the cranio osteopath at 8.45am tomorrow and we see the consultant at the hospital at 11.15am. We then have baby weigh-in at the health clinic at 1.30pm. Could everyone keep their fingers crossed for him that he does well in all 3 please? I feel like we could do with a little bit of luck after everything that we've been through so far in his short life.
Oh lovey, I've got everything crossed for him. I too googled Erb's palsy when you first mentioned it and saw that the earlier exercises are started the better. But the timescales I saw mentioned were all to do with the first 12 months, i.e. provided things are well under way in the first year, the prognosis is great.
I've just spoken to my paediatrician brother and he says that four weeks won't make the slightest bit of difference and you've not missed a critical time. Hopefully you'll get some equally reassuring advice from your consultant today x."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Best of luck for 3:00 sexymouse. Def will be keeping everything crossed and thinking of you xx

Thanks for asking your brother about it fluffnutter :kisses3:- pleased to hear we've not missed a critical period for improvement.
The cranio osteopath seemed pleased with how much progress she's seen today. She worked some more on his arm and also on his tummy for his wind, so hopefully these will both have a positive effect. She's said I can call her mobile if I want to talk through the results of the consultant's appointment today or if we need to reschedule her appointment if he has a physio appointment at the same time. She said she's interested to hear how he gets on today and also seems quite keen to be working alongside the physio sessions as she said the treatments can complement each other. Having watched his range of movements this morning and the fact that his Moro reflexes seems to be fairly symmetrical on both sides and he's bending his elbow himself, has made me feel more positive that something could be done for the hand part.
I'll keep you all updated.
Have a lovely holiday Sammie, and hope anyone whose little ones or themselves are poorly are feeling better soon.
Thank you for all of your support lovely ladies.

I've not tried to latch him on again today as my nipples are unbearably sore still after last night's attempt when he chewed both of them! I'm scared to try again at the moment as I'm scared it'll hurt again. I can't remember if I posted last night to say, but I went to breast feeding group yesterday and he latched on to the left side (the side he latched onto the previous week) straight away - he came off a few times but I got him back on using the exaggerated latch technique. When I got home, I decided to try him on the same side, as I knew I'd had success on that side, and he did it again and fed for about 15 minutes on and off. Then I got brave and tried him on the right side, and although he fought me for a bit, he eventually latched onto that side and fed for another 15 minutes. He seemed milk drunk after that but when I burped him, he was still hungry, so Moon gave him a bottle of expressed milk. At the next feed time, I tried again, but it was really painful and I had to break the seal with my finger to get him off. I've put Lansinoh on this morning and last night, but they are still sore.
Sounds like things are improving, he just needs practice, he will get there. What about usin the cream after every feed, this is what I did when moving from nipple sheild to bare breast. I hardly feel pain at all now and use cream about once a day.:jMarried 16/07/2010, ds1 born 11/08/12, baby due 08/05/20150 -
Serious lack of sleep last night poor Niall is struggling with wind, the only thing that has changed is we are feeding him expressed bottles of milk to help increase his weight. I use he medela calma teat, sad to think this could have caused recurrence of his wind. Still using infacol and colief and debating stopping these as Niall is now 11 weeks but worried encase it makes things worse. He is sticking up more not sure if these meds rant helping.
On a positive note excited about reusable nappie, sad I know. Think I will be buying 12 smartipants from fill your pants. Not sure what other types to get possibly tots bots they have. Really cute jack and beanstalk design t mo.
Hope news is good for you today sexymouse.

That's good news sexymouse, hope the rest of your appointments go well too!
We just got back from the toy library, I only hired one thing (mainly because I couldn't carry anymore!) - went for the ball pit, which so far is a hit! Having a cuppa to recover - that playgroup is pretty hectic as the ages range right up to school age.
Glad Aiden slept a bit better sunshine, hopefully his cough is on the way out now. Vicks on the feet sounds a bit of an odd one?! But I flipping love that stuff so ill put it anywhereNewborn thread member

Katie, glad toy library and play group went well, albeit tiring.
Sexymouse, that's good news from the osteopath - hope your other two appointments go equally well.
Went swimming with LO for the first time today - was pretty good, and really good value at £3.40I'm not entirely sure what she made of it all - she didn't cry, but there were no smiles either, she just looked really serious and a bit baffled - I think she was busy just taking it all in. But we'll be back next week - I'm sure she'll enjoy it once she gets used to it, and the instructor was brilliant.
Oh, and it also turned out to be a good cure for constipation - she did a huuuuge poo when we got home! She's now fast asleep - think she's worn out from all that
Just booked plane tickets for me and LO to go and see my lovely friend in the Netherlands at the end of November! :T I haven't seen her in almost a year, and she hasn't met my little girl - she was the first person after OH who knew I was pregnant, so she's an honorary auntie. Very excited!0
