Took Freddie swimming again. Great fun but the experience could be so much better if they changed a couple of things at the pool. :(

They have pushchair lockers which is fabulous. But the doors are so tightly sprung that you need to hold them open whilst you put the pushchair in the locker. I discovered it's impossible to hold a baby, and hold a door open and put a pushchair in the locker. You need three arms.

When you walk through to the pool there's not only a notice exhorting you to shower first, but you can't avoid them! There's a wall of water that you have to walk through between the changing rooms and the pool. This serves no real purpose as far as I can see; everyone runs through it quickly (so it's not cleaning anyone) and it soaks your towel! I always take a towel with me so that I can wrap Freddie up as soon as we're out of the water - this ends up damp :(

With just a few minor adjustments they could make the experience so much easier. I did ask if they had a suggestions box and mentioned that the doors were impossible to use if you were on your own but the staff member just looked at me with the dull gleam of idiocy in her eyes, said 'yeah, they're a bit stiff' and shrugged.

Would it help if you put your towel in a plastic swimbag to carry it through?

My little adorable has finally started to show an interest in food, he had half a jar of fisherman's bake for lunch, ooh it smelt! :D Dozy me has realised he seems to eat better if I give him his water *with* dinner! :D
  • Good news here today ladies Niall has put 5 and a half ounces on in a week while means no formula yay! I am having to continue pumping 4 times a day which is an effort. Just wondering how often people sterilise their pumping equipment? I do so after every use but I am thinking its excessive. Also having problems with my medela swing, struggling to get suction sometimes, the pump is making noises, I think it might be because I steriliser using cold water steriliser and Milton tablets, I am wondering if this is leaving a film on the suction cup. I know it made my nipple shields go strange.

Breastfeeding ladies ......when did you start getting periods again? Just interested...it would be nice to have a few more months period free. Niall is 11 weeks on sat.

Re bananas they contain soluble fibre which absorbs water so helps you form a poo.....therefore good for constipation. I don't think any fruit of veg will make you constipated as they all contain soluble fibre.

Niall is now moving around on jungle gym, have come back into the room to find he has changed positions, no rolling yet.

Well done on the weight gain Laura! Can't help with the sterilising issue I'm afraid, I use mine so rarely I do it every time in the microwave.

George is almost 6 months now and I've still not had a period. Going to be a shock when they do come back, its been over a year!

Think I might have beaten Ro to it with this one - vtech walker for £15 from amazon. We paid £21 for ours and its def worth it.

Boo, just tried to order the vtech walker (thanks Katie!), but when I clicked through to the Amazon website it came up as £20.21 rather than the £15 mentioned on the Hot UK Deals website - and then there's £4.99 postage as it's sold through a third party :( They're £19.99 in Argos at the moment, so might get one from there instead...

Total would be £42.91 not sure what delivery is
Just an example but might be an option if there are a few things you are looking for.
