Mozzy - The Baby Whisperer book I've got is called The Baby Whisperer Solves All Your Problems. Big thick creamy coloured thing, cost £12.99 from Waterstones - HTH :)

Back to three wake up get ups last night and a full 20 minute feed each time! Every night is different, I just can't spot any pattern to it except the times (currently 12.30, 3.30 and 6.30). Its starting to do my head in.

Is anyone else breastfeeding and trying to dreamfeed? We're the complete opposite to Yummymummy, in that he'll happily latch on and have a good munch in his sleep but then he wakes up as soon as he's finished and we have an hours worth of fuss before another feed *might* send him off to sleep!

Have got a call in to my HV, I really need some constructive advice. I know he's due another growth spurt at 16 weeks (he's 15 weeks tomorrow) and I'm absolutely dreading it, just thinking about it brings tears to my eyes and I honestly don't know how I'll cope.

DH is being completely useless too, sleeping all night (I know he needs his sleep but lying there listening to him snore makes me REALLY angry) and only offering to help when I've already started changing him/bathing him/whatever. ARGH!

Sorry for ranting, just needed to get that off my chest :(:o

Wishful thinking here too, she is teething though so might let her off.

Delain - oh dear hope the day gets better for you.

Winnie - i think the first couple of growth spurts were the worst, so hopefully won't be as bad for you.

Long way to go though- next two hurdles if anyone has any tips, are 1)dealing with her wind, which she doesnt give up easily (she farts a fair bit, but hardly any burps), and HATES being burped (queue mad crying spurts). I've seen suggestions to use a more upright feed position to help this, but not sure what that might look like? I'll ask the m/w tomorrow and see if she has the number for a BF support advisor.
Second one, is in the late evenings, she gets soooo overrought, that even if she wants to, she cant seem to get latched on. She just shakes her head madly side to side, with the nipple in the mouth, and wont suck. Any ideas on how to get her on? ) another one to also ask the m/w for help on, but i thought you ladies might suggest first!?

Sweety, have you tried infacol? It's magic stuff! It can take a few days for it to work but it works really well for wind, colic and hiccups.

  • I'm finding infacol great, it was on offer in sainsburys the other day.

Think we are heading for another growth spurt (he seems to have them weekly) as we have gone through 5 6oz bottles since 8 last night. He has gone back to sleep with minimum of fuss straight after thankfully but I don't know as my HV is useless!

Ben is now almost out of 0 - 3 clothes, he isn't chubby, just long so feeding lots as growing lots but I'm needing some uninterrupted sleep so role on going to my mums for a week for some extra tlc :D

sorry to butt in, im not really supposed to be on this thread :o

I used the dreamfeed with my ds1 and it was a great success, a few things to check on - are you getting him before he stirs for his dreamfeed - or is he already starting to come out of the sleep when you get to him ? Maybe try and get him 10 mins before you currently do, we found that whilst ds1 had fed at 6 when we put him down and *shouldnt* need another till 10pm if we waited he was coming out of deep sleep already (the baby whisperer talks about the cycles of sleep but i cant remember what she used to call this phase)

During growth spurts I used to express milk for the dreamfeed so I knew how much he had, we didnt then lift him out of the cot for the entire feed and would only lift him to wind/burp him at the end.

I adore the baby whisperer way of thinking, much less strict than others and she made a lot of sense, I would highly recommend getting hold of her TV series if you can I found it really helpful,

Sorry if i come across as preachy at all, all the best with it :)

Morning everyone, I had a good and a bad night. Good in that LO fed and went to sleep at 2230/2300, woke at 0300 for a feed, this is where it went wrong, she was fussy and only had 5 mins, couldnt get her back on for anything. To top it off DH complained about the noise of her sucking! I usually go into the spare room but im more comfy in our bed so i stayed there. She went back down ok and woke fussing at 0500, picked her up and she was back to sleep not interested in feeding, cuddled her for an hour before she woke for a feed. The two feeds this morning havent been great, fussing coming off and on etc. Cue crying jag for me and wanting to give up.

Sorry about the winging but do feel better for it :D

Winnie - i dont think we 'dreamfeed' as such. For her last feed at 2230/2300 I get her and change her quickly which rouses her slightly and then feed her which makes her drowsey. She then seems to go off while im trying to wind her. I am also dreading the next growth spurt!

Delain - Hope the Drs goes ok, would be interested in what they say as Isabella has a lot of spots on her face and neck, im assuming they are milk spots but not sure.

I need to find some more clubs to go to as im going stir crazy at home now. Was going to go for a walk but its miserable weather :(

Had another bad evening with the colic, managed to settler her at 12 then woke at 4 for a feed, i started getting upset as i felt so guity and it was my fault shes got colic.
Also started to feel lonely even tho i had my mum and OH with yday night.
went to sleep crying, as i felt so bad and that i shouldn't be crying bacause i wanted DD so much, but i feel like im struggling, but DD is putting on weight and good in the day. Not sure if im showing signs of post-natel depressed, going keep a diary of how im feeling.

DD seems to get hiccups after a feed, they dont seem to bother her much.

you know when your a new mum...
....you want to take DD for a walk and cant be bothered to dry your hair!

hi, i havent had time to read back so i dont know if this has been suggested, my LO had terrible colic, it was awful, i gave her Colief and bang, end of, it was like a little pot of magic, have you tried that? it is expensive for the amount of it you get but well worth it and you can get it on perscription.
    Skint, but happy (ish):p
