My little boy is always cold at night,he has 2.5 tog sleeping bag and then a blanket thing(baby brain and can't remember the name for the blankets that have holes in) think it's coz I swaddled him from birth ,he likes to be tucked in and cosy,I'm the very same, tuck duvet right round my body and under feet.really tired today,we go to a baby and toddler group out of town and have to be there for 9.45 and it's on till 12,lots of screaming children, running, crawling, drooling, grabbing, couldn't be a teacher find it all a bit overwhelming Brody loves it,he always grabs out for the most disgusting and grotty toys lolThanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

Hi ladies!! So sorry I havent been around on this thread much - been SO busy lol
Well Amy is having a growth spurt and is a boobie monster at the moment! She sleeps approx 3 hours at night - wakes for a feed, then goes back to sleep for another 3 hours :-) I dont remember DD1 sleeping that much!! It is difficult to wind Amy though - she's throwing up after each feed, MW said its because shes being greedy lol
Me and OH are getting on quite well atm too which is a bonus - do need to keep reminding him not to push DD1 (Not his DD) out.
Dependancy thing - I refuse point blank to give Amy a dummy - The only way she will get one is if i catch hersucking her thumb - Can throw a dummy away, cant cut her thumb off! She does cry a fair bit when you put her "down" to bed because she wants to be held as she falls asleep - er.... NO! not happening young lady lol
Hope your all well xx0 -
Tried a dreamfeed last night, but blimmin girl wouldn't wake up! Tried various pokes, wiggles etc and wobbling my nipple round her mouth but she wouldn't wake up for anything and just ended up with milk dribbling down her cheek! Wasn't the end of the world as she woke up at 3 (last fed at 8pm) and went straight back down after a feed, and we had to wake her up at 8.15 for the school run. Will have another go at the dreamfeed but not sure what to try to wake her up!Little lady arrived 13/12/110

yummy it also took me 15mins to wake DD for her feed at 2am.
Wasn't my HV today just a nursery nurse. DD now weighs 8lb 1oz, so must be feeding her right.
Been a bit 'off' today, was awake from 12.45 until 4.45, and was getting funny so i managed to settle her for a sleep by stoking her hair
Does anyone use swalled blankets? What else do you LO wear? vest and sleepsuit?0 -
Wow, I keep trying to get on here, I promise I'll read back. Hope you're all well!
Rose Lira is a month old today- only realised that a short time ago. I can barely remember what day it is, never mind the date. She's getting bigger, outgrew the first clothing she wore this week.
Stopped in to say hi to work, and discovered they can't stand my replacement, and can't wait til I'm back.....
We have better and better nights sleeping- she went down last night at 2230 and wasnt up until near 0800 this morning. I'm not knocking it, I'm enjoying it! She seems to love sleep- it's hard to wind her as she keeps drifting off in the middle. She is a hungry thing- I'd swear she has a black hole for a stomach....
There was a definite laugh the other morning, and I have her on the camcorder grinning everytime DH asked her who was a perfect girl....0 -

Hi just popping on to offer a bit advice, when my baby was tiny I noticed that I struggled to get him down for his day time naps but he was no bother at night time, till I realized that it was the Moses basket that was the problem .I put him in it during the day in the living room so he was close to me for settling changing etc,but put him into his cot at night (from 5 weeks,in our room) as soon as I started putting him in cot during the day it was much easier.he used to wake himself up all the time rustling away in Moses basket, lol
Don't know if it's worth mentioning but we followed the contented little baby routine, not exactly to the letter but very close, still follow it now, bubs has slept thru from 6 weeks old(still had a dream feed at 10pm) but slept from 7-7.30, we dropped the dream feed around 5 months with no bother.we also gave him dummy to start with as he was windy and wanted to suck all the time.we fazed out the dummy around 4 months (followed advice in the contented little baby) he was totally fine without it,he's now nearly 7 months and not bothered by wind or missing his dummy.this has turned into a novel, but basically wanted to stress what everyone says IT DOES GET BETTER!
LL x
What is the contented baby routine? I like the idea of sleeping through the night so am happy to hear how it works if anyone knows?!
Thanks

Contented little baby routine is a book, got my copy second hand.at first it's a bit daunting and very militant but really works.whenever we go to baby groups etc everyone always comments on bubs and the one word they use to describe him is contented.I dunno if it works so well because I'm a routine kinda person and need to be organized,I'm defo not a "see how it goes " person.I would let you borrow my copy but it's on loan to one of the mums at toddlers group, lolThanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

I bought the baby sleeping bag that Kat posted a link to a few pages back (Friday or Saturday I think). Anyway I ordered it Saturday afternoon/evening and it turned up Monday morn at 8.30am. Katie used it for the first time last night, it has a nice snug neck so I knew she wouldn't slide down inside it, and I felt more reassured knowing she wasn't kicking her blankets off and that her arms, shoulders and chest were warm.
You're welcome honey, glad it helps! We use it every night and wash and dry it within a day so he can wear it again as he sleeps so much better so don't wanna risk him not sleeping by putting him in anything else.

Hi Ladies! Hope to be joining you all in the next few weeks. Can I ask, does anyone use a cot bumper? I've read mixed theories on them, and was going to go without one?
I have one but its at the back and LO sleeps at the bottom of the crib so i think its ok, apparently you should take it out once they are old enough to use it to climb out, that's when its dangerous!
