Thanks mirror :-) i will wrap it in a towel and see how we get on. Oh tried for 20mins but jacob didnt drink anything so we will try again tomorrow.
Cloudberry, that shawl looks nice:-) my two friends use the baby bubu and i doubt there is really much difference between the two.
You sound like you are doing all the right things to keep night and day seperate. In the sleep book ive got it says that six weeks is often the magic time when sleep starts to keep to a pattern. Jacob took two months to recognise night time i think and it took another month for him to stop waking up to play at 4am. I am very jealous of my two friends whose little girls have always slept well, but they both struggle with daytime naps. My other two however have babies who are more like jacob so i know a lot of it is blind luck. As we are now at the six month stage we are all putting into action different sleeping technics to try and get them to sleep just that little longer/go straight back to sleep after feedingCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

2 more sleeps until I go to center parc. I am so excited I might wet myself, then again I had a baby just over 3 weeks ago so I might wet myself anyway!! lol
:rotfl::eek: jenjade that did make me chuckle.
kandboys thanks for your help, your a star. x
cloudberry im same as jenjade i used samuels blanket or his muslin to cover up. to actually keep my side/belly covered i used to wear a long vest top so even when i pulled my jumper up to feed my large wobbly belly was covered still. x
jenjade how old is ellie now, with samuel it took around 6 weeks for it to stop hurting, i didnt try the nipple shields, basically because i didnt think of it and cant remember anyone mentiong them to me so dont know how helpful they are or not. keep on with the nipple cream evn in between feeding.
smlsave sometimes its the shape of the teat they dont like apparently you have to find one that is similar in shape to your own nipple . samuel took straight to the avent ones but i know my nipples arent that large lol (or is that slighlty too much info)now proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j0 -
Hope lots come and join the FB group - it's a closed group so don't worry about sharing pics. So in between school runs, the Boots sale, sorting out pushchair, making tea, changing beds etc etc I managed to book Jacob's Christening! We're doing it on the 4th March so not long to go :jThank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0

Christening sounds lovely. We're not religious so LO will miss out on that (and us!).
Read about sale earlier....gonna hit it tomorrow and hope there's some stuff left. I went to asda today and got a couple of growbag sleeping bags, nappies and bubs toiletries0 -
Hope I don't get blasted for saying this, but I sometimes wished the media would tell you how hard it is to breastfeed, all the pics they publish are of a nice contended baby nusling into mums boob, while mum beams away.for me bubs was wriggling and head butting boob, then when I finally got him on,I was bright red ,toes curling in slippers, then the health visitor pipes up that it I must be doing it wrong as it shouldn't hurt, worst piece of advice or what ?Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

I've requested to join fb group but have also posted a pic of Sadie on newborn page.
Love my little girl!!
To all those bf - well done. I had a horrid time with it and really not nice midwives and mixed messages and ... well I now ffeed. Totally agree that no one warns you that it's that hard! My closest friend said it took 8 weeks before she felt comfortable so keep at it if thats what you want. xxWandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -
We were on the 2nd page! I really wanted a summer Christening but he has to wear the family Christening outfit and it's only upto 6 months. And as he's a big boy I needed to do it sooner rather than later!!
Does anyone else need the link to the group? PM me or Mirror for the link as FB's search is sometimes rubbish!Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0 -
Morning all.
Hope everyone hada good nigt.
Again at 8 DD was crying, offered her a feed but didn't want it, cuddling then offered a feed at 9.45 had 15mins then managed to settle her at 10.40 again, then i woke her up at 2 for another feed.
Seems a bit funny this morning, woke up at 9, had only like 8min feed as she kept coming off, so changed her nappy then cried so offered more but isn't taking it, keep having little cries but doesn want the boob.
Got Health visitor coming later hope she has plenty off time as i have sooooooooo many questions.
Right must get dressed!!0
