4 month sleep regression Turtle. It should pass. We have the 8 month at the moment and it isn't pleasant, but it seems to be passing.

    So cute Nutella :D

    Hey ladies,

Hope you all had good weekends? Mine was mad busy! Did my baby sale and made £210.00 was chuffed to bits! Sold my pram, baby bath, moses basket and rocking stand and lots of clothes. Was really pleased to get rid of the big items to make way for more new stuff (especially with her Birthday next month!!)

Sorry to hear about your moggy Sexymouse, my old cat was run over last September and it broke my heart so I know how close you get to your pets. Keeping my fingers crossed he makes a full recovery.

Nutella - lovely picture and look at all the hair, my little lady is practically bald!

Hi Toniq - nice to see you!

  • Sammie, back at work end of November :( dreading it and well up when I think about it but has to be done.

Turtle, hope the sleep sorts itself out soon. We are still a bit all over the place with sometimes sleeping through and sometimes not, I dont know if that is just the way he is or this blimin cough he has. Re projectors, I returned a ELC one as it was too jolly and bright-like a disco in his room!
Got the fisher price seahorse-luckily loaned off a friend so we could see if we liked it, Aiden loves it so we bought him one. For Aiden it was just trying to get him to lie in his cot without him thinking it was playtime! Although the horse only plays music for 5mins which is a bit annoying but I only have to put it on twice before he is gone.
Nutella's little girl and OH;) have the frog projector and lullaby and I think thats been the best for them. We bought the frog too but I have boxed it back up as the sea horse worked and will see if my friend wants it when her LO arrives.

Hi janinne :) fab money making!!! I bet Poppy will be a lucky girl on her birthday! Aiden doesnt have much hair either, a little sprinkling and thats it!

Hi toniq!! How is your little one?

  • Nutella, your little one is gorgeous, glad you put a pic up ;)
My thoughts have returned to work too, even though my gorgeous little man is only 7 weeks old Weds, I applied for a teaching job 20 weeks pregnant and foolishly told them I'd start work this half term when he is 10weeks old!

So those of who with older babies in nursery/who are working, what should I be doing? Turtlemoose helped me by saying I need at least an oz of breastmilk for every hour I'm away, I'm only going to work one day a week this term and he'll be at nursery until 1pm then hubby will have him until I'm home, between 5and6. Ive started freezing in 2,5pzs but not sure if that means to put it in a 5oz bottle or 2 2,5 oz bottles. he hasnt taken bottle for a while either but has settling in days at nursery from tomorrow so will see how that goes :( He's still not sleeping til 10 so ill have time for squishy cuddles and to feed him. I'm thinking of buying a medela citystyle bag for my pump while I'm at work and also contains a cooler bag. What else do I need? (Apart from to plan my lessons!)

Sorry for being selfish, I'm glad they semi know what's wrong with might sexy mouse and will read back in next feed xx

Have you got somewhere nice at work where you can go to express? As you'll be doing it a few times a day, it's worth having a pleasant area you can sit in for a while. I have images of women having to express in the loos - who wants to do that? :(

Ladies I have good news! Spoken to the vet and my furbaby purring_cat-131.gif has done 2 wees overnight, and he can come home this afternoon!:jWe need to watch out for reobstructions or cystitis as both can occur in the first week, and he'll probably need further tests a bit later with our vets to see if he has any bladder stones etc, but fingers crossed he's going to be ok. :D

My hands-free breast pumping is going well and I managed to express 150ml in total at the last pumping session, so I'm able to put some in the fridge to top up for the next feed to stay a little in advance of the demands for food. :)

Have given Jonathan his second dose of eye drops for his staph aureus, so hopefully be the end of today, we shall start to see an improvement in his eyes as he has to have them 4 times a day. Dinner at MIL's tonight, so at least we (Moon really rather than me) don't have to cook. :T

I'm finally feeling like we're coming through everything, and really hope that the cranio osteopathy on Friday helps with Jonathan's colic, latch and arm, and then we're there!

Thanks for all of the well wishes and support - it's nice to be able to type my worries etc on here and know that someone will respond even if I post at strange times.

    sexymouse xx

    Studentsmrs:
    • Somewhere to store it - fridge is most obvious - but do people need to be told to leave it alone? Will you need to label it etc? Fridge thermometer to check the temp is ok?
    • Piccies of your cutie, to get you in the mood. Also, a recording of their "I'm hungry" noises/cry, for those days when you need an extra push to get it flowing!
    • A lock on the door!! As fluff suggested, you're going to need a space to do it. If you're constantly worrying about someone barging in while you've got your tits out, I doubt you'll be able to relax and express much. So either a lock on the door, or maybe a huge baggy t shirt that gives you enough room to manoeuvre beneath but covered everything, that way if someone does accidentally walk in, they havent seen you doing your finest daisy the dairy cow impression.
    • ice packs to go in your cool bag to keep it cool while travelling home.
    • i took hand sanitizer, and also a small towel to mop up anything required, and a few spares for my pump too - but that might be OTT but I didn't have a stash to fall back on so was paranoid that I had to get enough for the next day

In terms of bottles, I always think its better to do 2 x 2.5 oz rather than 1 x 5 oz (or whatever your quantity) ..because you minimise the risk of waste. If one doesn't get used, you could use it tomorrow or freeze it, if a bottle is half drunk you haven't got that long to use it because of potential saliva contamination.

3rd set of jabs here today, thank god that's over!!!! No more til he's one :)

Also my first smear since pregnancy/birth, funny how despite having had them every 6 months for 4 years I still found them embarrassing in the past, whereas today I merrily chatted away to the nurse totally unconcerned she was shining a light and having a good old look up there....amazing what having a baby does to you lol!!! :rotfl:

Glad things are looking up sexymouse, hope kitty is ok when you get him home.

Studentmrs good luck with work. I think turtle has just about covered it but definitely find somewhere quiet and with a lock on the door!

I'm off to baby group soon, although pretty comfy on the sofa with George asleep in the other room!
