Jannine, you have done fab with the feeding, to express for all that time is amazing. (before going on to feeding I mean) :) I'm sure the Infatrini will help her gain too, which I know is always a worry for you.

Sleep has gone to pot here too, had an absolute crap day with the little bleeder, screeched almost all day except from when he had his nap. Not sure what it is, 8 month sleep regression, teeth. I wish I did know, as it's driving me insane! x

  • Ill join that bad sleep club! Aiden has been brilliant at settling himself at night but the last 3 nights he has stirred all night, just tossing and turning.

This morning he was so ready for a nap, crying, dropping off on his milk, so I put him in the cot and he screams and screams!! Like a proper paddy. As soon as I pick him up he is all smiles and he had another 2 hours happy play before he had a nap!!

Wish I knew what the issue was too! X

Thanks Hun, I still feel slightly guilty though. :o Which I know is crazy! I'm dreading my appointment with the Consultant next week when I will tell him what my plans are for feeding her. He has never said anything or put any pressure on my about feeding and always gave me all the options, its just me being stupid!!

Must be something in the air with babies at the moment, Poppy has been exactly the same for the past few days! She is normally a fab sleeper and very happy and smiley, today she has whinged and cried and hardly smiled! Really hoping it passes soon for both of us! I miss my sleep, I was up at 2.30am this morning watching Rugrats!! :rotfl:

He is still self settling fine, just waking up in the middle of the night, screaming his head off, apparently 8 months is common for night terrors, so maybe it's that, he seems generally quite angry when he wakes up. No idea.

He napped fine today too, had his usual 2 hours at lunch time.

How many naps does he have sunshine I think I remember A dropping from 3 to 2 around 6 months. Wasn't pleasant to start with either :( x

  • Is anyone elses baby really clingy atm? Seems like I cant even go to the end of the room without him screaming and crawling after me, even when OH is here he does it. x

You have no reason to feel guilty at all! I know what you mean though, I still have an immense guilt about BF not working for us, and every day I feel if I'd just tried a bit harder :( but it wasn't to be and now I know he has lip tie, it's sinking in more and more to me that was the reason we had so much trouble. I just wish someone had noticed at the time! I'm sure your consultant won't bat an eyelid, he'l probably think doing a bit of both will be good for Poppy :) she'l get the high calories from the formula, and you and her will still get the nice cuddles and feeding at night.

I'm hoping for a nice sleep tonight, I feel so stressed after all the crying today. OH is off tomorrow so he's on duty and I'm in the spare room, but he's such a heavy sleeper I tend to wake up with the crying before he does which defeats the purpose :o but we will see. x

Meant to ask Gilly as Aaron said his first word yet? I think I remember you mentioning it recently or did I imagine that?

He has dropped a nap which is why we moved bedtime forwards. He has about 45 mins in the morning and about 1-1.5hours afternoon.

He is shuffling around the cot now, still asleep but like he cant get comfy! x

YES. 6 months is awful for that, I had a shadow. The best thing to do is reassure them and if he wants to be lifted, lift him. It will pass, it's a separate anxiety thing. Not nice at the time though, especially if your Aiden is anything like my Aaron and wants you to be moving all the time while holding him

That's interesting about the night terrors, Poppy has been very upset when she's been waking. Normally I can put Ewan on and put her dummy in and she goes straight back off, but not for the past few nights. If she was born at term she would be 8 months now so maybe that's what's happening.
