Meant to ask Gilly as Aaron said his first word yet? I think I remember you mentioning it recently or did I imagine that?
Yes, he can say Mum/Mama/Mummy and Dadadadada.
He doesn't say it loads though, but he does if I'm not giving him enough attention he'l shout after me lol. It's not crystal clear either but I do think he knows the difference between me and OH, and he does seem to know what he is saying. He babbles loads but nothing else you'd even have a clue with.sunshine_1988 wrote: »He has dropped a nap which is why we moved bedtime forwards. He is shuffling around the cot now, still asleep but like he cant get comfy! x
A shuffles all night long, he moves so much. He may just be a moving sleeper. Does he sleep on his tummy? Apparently tummy sleepers are more likely to be active at night xThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
YES. 6 months is awful for that, I had a shadow. The best thing to do is reassure them and if he wants to be lifted, lift him. It will pass, it's a separate anxiety thing. Not nice at the time though, especially if your Aiden is anything like my Aaron and wants you to be moving all the time while holding him
Yep!! Always stops crying if we walk round the house. If I dont pick him up he literally tries to climb my leg lol. Hope it passes before he starts nursery, I dont want him to scream like that when we leave him!x

That's interesting about the night terrors, Poppy has been very upset when she's been waking. Normally I can put Ewan on and put her dummy in and she goes straight back off, but not for the past few nights. If she was born at term she would be 8 months now so maybe that's what's happening.
We are going through exactly what you describe. Usually we can whack his dummy in, shove on the mobile and he drifts back off, but not these days, every time I put him back down he just pulls himself up and stands screaming at the side of his cotit's horrific. But if I pick him up he is fine, which is so annoying especially at 3 in the morning
4 hours we were the other week, before he'd go back to sleep.

He is a tummy sleeper yes, like me
It should do, lasted about 1/2 weeks here. It was a shock to me as I have such an independent little thing, he doesn't like snuggles or being hugged, and prefers to be off on his own playing than spending time with me. Does he have any settling in sessions at nursery?
I'm a tummy sleeper too was a nightmare when I was pregnant. He is maybe just a shuffler, if I'm in a light sleep it amazes me how often A wakes up, but he seems to go straight back over, he doesn't wake up and cause a fuss, I just hear his mouth going and I know he's awake and then 10 seconds later he'l be snoring again lol.The frontier is never somewhere else. Yes Jannine, all of this stuff tends to stem from due date, so I'd say it could be the same thing xThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

Know what you mean, I was like a zombie at 2.00am this morning, I was in a lovely deep sleep when she started to scream. I worry about my neighbours being woken up so pick her up in her sleeping bag and bring her straight to the living room and stick the telly on and as long as she can see me she is fine.
Lets hope it passes really soon for both of us!
Also I can really recommend those Garnier eye roll on sticks with concealer! They make you look slightly less exhausted!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Yes he will have 3-4 wks of settling in so he should know them all. He loves other babies so I am hoping he will be distracted and just play with them.
I am shattered so off to bed, night ladies hope we all get some sleep xLittle Man born 11 March 2012 :smileyhea

Night Night Sunshine. Hopefully Aiden sleeps good for you.
I've been using coffee, coffee and more coffee Jannine, I sometimes go for a nap when he does during the day but more often than not it makes me feel worse, so it's always, do I take the risk? Today while he napped I had to get my own lunch and prep dinner, so that was that idea out the window.
I try and not get wound up by it, as in general he is a great sleeper, and this is such a short time in his life, I know I'll look back and wish I could have it backThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Night Sunshine, Gilly and anybody else reading this. I'm off to bed as well and I really hope we all get some undisturbed sleep!

I'm not a coffee drinker but I may have to start! I feel worse when I nap during the day as well and its the only time I really get to do jobs. I always think when she goes down for a nap I'll sit down with a brew and catch up on telly but it never happens and I end up doing washing or cleaning the bathroom etc!
I don't tend to get wound up but being sleep deprived is hard, no wonder its used as a form of torture!
