  • I'm a wimp, heating has been on here for a few days :)

Why am I up so late? Must go get some sleep as my little man will be getting me up shortly if the last few nights are anything to go by :o

    Hi all....

Rose turned 9 months on the 19th. :) Strange wondering where the time went.

DH phoned me a few hours ago to say she'd just picked herself up, stood (which she's been doing a lot recently)- and then, very nochalantly, walked over to him...... He phoned me saying she seemed puzzled by his reaction!:j:j My baby's walking now- wow.

Regards nappies, we use a disposable at night as well, as haven't found a night cloth nappy yet. Should bother looking, but have so many disposable left.

Heating, I rarely put it on. It's because my two neighbours, who are extremely nice, keep their heating on all the time. Add the heat from the plasma TV and our house is usually 25 degrees!
  • Wow well done Rose!

We had a slightly better night last night, up twice then up at 6.30. Best night in a while, hope its the start of him getting back to normal!

We don't have proper heating, got a storage heater in the living room and an oil filled radiator in the bedroom. Haven't put either of them on yet but I think tonight might be the night. George seems quite toasty in a sleep suit and his sleeping bag (with his feet poking out the bottom, lanky boy!), apart from his hands which are always freezing. We're going to need bigger sleep suits soon so will get some with built in mitts but until then I don't think there's much we can do as he sleeps with s arms flung up over his head!

Freddie's just the same :D. His hands were like ice this morning. I might turn over the mitt bits of his sleepsuit but he likes to chew his thumbs (so cute!) so they'd end up really soggy. I think cold and dry is better than cold and wet so maybe I'll just leave it.

Freddie's Sophie has just arrived. He's only 11 weeks so he can't hold her or deliberately chew her face yet but he really likes the squeaking!

NB. I gave her a wash when I got her out of her packet and her squeak's not half as loud as it was before I washed her. Oops :o

  • fluff - sophies squeak will recover. It almost went completely one day because of the amount of drool it was subjected to! Ours has had a regular washing for a while now and the squeak is still there

OH thinks Sophie is a 'glorified dog toy'. I pointed out that babies are just glorified dogs (only a bit more stupid) :D

A question for those combo feeding/formula feeding, how much does it cost? I appreciate that some babies will eat more than others, but how much per week do you spend on formula?

  • If you just formula feed when they get up to the bigger bottles you're looking at roughly a carton a week so about £9.50 (aptamil) to £10.50 (aptamil comfort)
  • Lirin how exciting!!!!!! :j

Reuben gets cold hands too...but he sucks the back of his hands and settles himself when he wakes up sometimes (or just when I put hum down in general)... With mitts he can't do that :o

How long do teething episodes last? We are on day 4 here and it's getting to me a bit now, poor boy isn't happy unless he's chewing on something, and even then he whimpers while chewing :( bonjela and baby paracetemol seem to be taking edge off but i dont even need to see the clock to know when he's due another dose!

and not to mention the nappies....we've gone from a modest sized poo every other day like clockwork, to at least twice a day, out the legs, up the back type, the consistency of natural yoghurt....I feel like all I do at the mo is wipe up dribble, clean up poo, and let R chew my knuckle (his fave thing to chew on!).

Katie glad to hear your nights are getting better, after having a baby I totally understand why they use sleep deprivation as torture!!
