  • I've got a poorly boy today, terrible night last night and he's coughing non stop. Add to that we were just playing his favourite game where OH holds him and runs towards me and we both shout boo (sounds bonkers I know but it's pretty much guaranteed to get a giggle :o) but I moved forward a bit and we cracked heads so that game ended in a guilty mummy and daddy and a howling baby :(

Boo to sleep regression turtle, hope it passes quickly.

Aimless we were only there for a day trip, but have already decided when George is big enough to build sandcastles we're booking the apartment we used to stay in for a weeks holiday with the in laws. Are you local to Filey? Normally people look at me blankly when I mention it!

My grandparents retired there, so we used to spend a lot of holidays there when my eldest was littler. My baby came home with a cold too though, must be Filey germs!

Oh no Katiechoc poor george. :( I got Noah out of the car the other day and bumped his head on the top of the door! I felt so bad!!!

Noah has been sleeping for a couple of hours!
I don't have to pick the boys up from school until 4.30 either so I'm having a peaceful day so far!! :D

    Hey Ladies,

Thought I'd have a quick catch-up whilst Poppy was napping!

I found a bargain in Matalan yesterday, I've had a look on the web-site but it isn't on so must just be available in stores. They have fleecy all in one suites for £6.00 in pink and blue colours. They are ideal for popping over pj's as winter approaches and it gets chilly. The fleece isn't to thick and I've washed them today and they seem to wash well! I bought 4, 2 in her current size and 2 in the next size so hopefully will see us through winter. She had one on this morning when she got up and was so snug, wish they did them in adult sizes!!

Hope you got your brew in the end Sammie, I went to have my hair cut yesterday at 12.30pm and enjoyed my first tea of the day. I don't often end up eating until lunchtime now a days!

Hope you made swimming Turtle, Wednesday is our swimming day as well, but our local pool is shut for a week having repairs so no swimming for us until next week!

I have made the decision to return to my job in November, dreading it already! I'm going back 4 days (Friday off) and I only work term time, my Mum will be having Poppy for the 4 days! If I really don't enjoy working I will leave after working 12 weeks, this gives me the chance to settle in or if not I can leave without having to pay any of my maternity back! I'm sure I'll be fine when I'm back in to the routine and Poppy will have a fab time with my Mum and will be well looked after, I'll just miss her so much! But it will be great to have adult conversations again and not be stuck in watching Banana's in Pyjamas which is Poppy's favourite, as soon as she hears the theme tune she gets excited!!

Anyway I've gabbled on enough, just heard my dishwasher beep so need to go and empty it!

    Janninew. xx

P.S I had to order another new pram so we have one to keep at my Mums, it arrived today and its fab, think I like it more than the one we currently have! Might have to keep this one at home and send my old one to my Mums!!

  • I am guessing niall might be doing a growth spurt, he just seems to want to bf a lot and is agitated on he breast a bit. He is. 6 weeks on sat so likely I think. He hasn't slept muh today, had to put the baby sling on for him to sleep so I could get some lunch and do housework.

After looking on Kellymom have concluded I have a blood blister on one of my nipples prob from sheild rubbing or poor latch, it's a bit sore.:(

  • Eek blood blister sounds painful, Laura, hope it clears up quickly.

    Love the new pram janine!

Forgot to say earlier - thanks for the info re early weaning. I'm going to take him to get weighed tomorrow (depending on if the cough deteriorates any further) so will speak to the hv then. For me I'd rather start weaning a bit early than go to formula but I'll see what the hv says would be best for the wee man. Really can't take another night last night - up twice between 10 and 2 and then once an hour until 6 when we were up for 45 minutes, then til 7.30.

Any tips on getting him to swallow calpol off a spoon? He just spits it straight back out again. I don't have a syringe in the house but think I might have to get one, or a dropper thing.

As somebody who has a lot of medication to give to her baby I tend to put it in a cup and add a small amount of water or milk and Poppy will drink it! She won't take off a spoon either, though we do have lots of syringes, she still manages to spit some out! You should be able to get a syringe from your local chemist for free.
