Thanks guys
I wont take your advice as medical etc etc, think might try our v pillow or blanket under his sheet.
Just tried my normal pillow and he is napping longer than usual. It isnt under the sheet though but we have video monitors so I can see if he moves. Will try putting one undrr his sheet later. I get desperate too Ro! Sometimes he wakes at night and just wants cuddles!

Sunshine we know all about desperate !!
Safe sound - will try the blanket instead of towels doh why didn't I think of that!
Oh and it's always changing this morning he decided to lob his fisher price remote out the cot :0 lol0 -
If it helps iv just helped another girl with a bit of self settling techniques and she has said its like a different baby. Hes going to sleep on his own, napping for long periods during the day.
I cannot recommend it enough xThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Ro I'm glad the scan came back clear. My niece was born with two holes in her heart so i know what it entails....glad Scott is ok
Reuben sleep is all over the place. Last night he woke up after 3 hrs. Then every 2hrs. He hasn't been like that since he was a teeny newborn. I'm shattered! I've been used to him going to bed and sleeping 5 to 7 hrs, feed, then another 3 to 5 hrs, feed then another 2 to 4 hrs. I am now zombiemoose!!
I can definitely tell he was on a bottle all last week, as he is abusing my nippples like you would not believe, its like hes having to learn all over again - I wonder if he's not getting the milk efficiently enough so wants to feed more often? Hmm.0 -
Turtle- thanks for the expressing advice. I am getting about an ounce each time I express, so happy with that
Wanted to try aldi nappies but they didn't have right Size for Niall
Organised trial of reusable nappies, I get the kit in about a week and a half, I am hoping I get on with them
Dog howling away next door:( my mum has just put a deposit down on a labradoodle even though I love dogs I am worried that it will just cause my mum more stress, she has a lot going on at the moment
Niall is definitely showing an improvement on infacol although still farting loads, am going to ask for it on prescription as spending £5 a week on it. Although he now has a very weepy eye and from googling looks like a blocked tear duct.
Called virgin yesterday and got £5 a month off our bill and an upgrade to our broadband, I did threaten to leave and go to bt
Niall is 6 weeks sat and weighs 11lb I am worried about being able to hold and breastfeeding him when he gets heavier, I haven't got a specific bfing pillow- do people recommend these?
As for frequeny of feeds Niall feeds every 1-2 hours in the day and about every 3 hours at night...I think I will find this hard to keep up if this is the way it will be till 6months:o

Good to see you post, Laura! I also wonder how it will be to keep it up. Managed to get little man off nipple shield Friday, really randomly as I had tried before but he would get frustrated. This time I tried to relax and had a lovely warm bath and stayed topless til the feed. It is so satisfying to see him latching without shield though still use it if he is really crying I the night and then whip it off first time he pulls himself off. Still only 4 weeks old and don't feel established but feeling more human today :)Annoying though as he fed well at breasteeding drop in and so we got home thinking I could make some dinner( hubs currently in cast so pretty much useless) and then little man just screamed and screamed!! We are still feeding now, almost an hour later which is good as I was worried he was eating less.
Do they always feed up to 10 times a day then? We've been really lucky that he does a 5 hr stretch at night, feeds and then 4 hrs but can be between 1and3 hrs in day but who knows how long that will last? Slowly getting used to bfing in public but find the initial latching on exposing...
I'm sure I had more to say but hi and hope we are well xx

Jedi I'm glad expressing is going well for you - I spent so many hours crying on the damn hospital pump because I wasn't getting enough milk, and it rubbed me raw so my nipples and surrounding area looked like grazes/burns...then I finally got told how to express properly, I just wish someone had helped me earlier!
As for pillow, I have a theraline Wynnie, and I can't say enough good things about it. I was a bit sceptical at first (it's just a cushion, right?!) but after using it I was convinced.... it's so comfy (I've slept on it!), Reuben snoozes in it, it helps him sit up, we use it for tummy time, he learnt how to latch on by himself on it....I love it!!!!!!!.
I just had a little episode (about 7-8 mins?) of the same kind of pain I had when still healing after my section - not the wound but inside. Really intense, and haven't had pain there for a long while - I'm going to ask the dreaded question....is this normal?!0 -
Edited out, thanks aimless
No price on there so not sure how much they are, but I love mine0 -
Found a good nursing pillow as recommended by a fellow MSEr
. I've found the link to their online shop - they are £23.95. I've not bought a nursing pillow yet, so will bookmark the page now. x

Student mrs - really great to hear you are moving off the nipple sheild, I am struggling to do this with Niall. A couple of weeks ago he did 10 mins without it now it seems to be back to 10 sucks only:( also Niall did used to sleep now and again for 5 hours at night beforehe started suffering with wind, this now wakes him. Grrr has Been feeding every 2 hours today.i think they say normal to feed 8-10 times a day.
As for breast feeding In public I haven't done it, as you know it's not easy with the sheild more exposure of breast. I have fed at my mums and mils but in bedroom upstairs as they both are a bit funny with bfing.
Ro - meant to say you will love your city mini, I have a city sidewalk which I love and yours is a better model.
Turtle - my sis still has stabbing pain now and again 2 years after her csection:( I think some people have no probs though.
