Aimless - the play pen looks fab!! Im selling Noah's graco sweet peace swing and play gym so I might buy one with the money we make.
Katiechoc - glad you had a lively time and managed to take George to your fav place. :j how many weeks is he now?
Sunshine - yay for saving money on your mortgage :T hope Aiden sleeps well tonight.
Noah is in bed now, I tried him on some cottage pie tonight but he just gagged do I gave him his blended veg instead. The cottage pie was mashed up well so I don't know why he struggled.

Thanks ladies
. He's 20 weeks now. I think I read 17 weeks is the absolute earliest you should start? I don't know really, will give him chance to get used to being back at home and hope that sorts it out. He settled really well at bedtime so fingers crossed as I can't take another bad night!
Yay for the new mortgage sunshine! We're in the middle of getting a new one too, we stupidly agreed for someone to come round to value it tomorrow morning-not great considering oh came down with a migraine when we got home so we didn't get properly unpacked, the place is a tip!
Hope you get somewhere with the self settling soon. I'm with you on not letting them cry it out, I'll leave him for a couple of minutes as sometimes he does calm down quicker without me fussing but I won't let him go for long. Does he have a mobile on his cot? George loves his, I put that on, give him his comforter and dummy and cross my fingers! I reckon on average3 out of 5 times he sorts himself out and drops off.Newborn thread member

I would never ever ever advise leaving a baby to cry it out, I do controlled crying, where I pop in and out and in and out. Well I did, only had to do it for 2 days, and everything sorted out, he goes straight into his cot now and almost straight to sleep. He has one or two naps a day of roughly 2 hours combined, and sleeps 13-14 hours at night.
I used to hold him to get to sleep but realised the problems my friend was having with her 12 month old, as at a year bottles aren't supposed to be used and she done her back in carrying him around, and ultimately easier to change routine the younger they are. She's still having issues now and he's 18 months :eek:The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
I started weaning Aiden at 23 wks. Oh no about the valuer!! We ate hoping they value ours at what we need them to for the LTV% otherwise we need to look at paying off a couple of grand to reduce it and get the better deal - if that makes sense?!
He has a mobile yes but he sees it as more of a toyI think oh needs to lower the cot as he tugs on the mobile something awful! He is asleep now but wasnt brave enough to try the blanket or pillow under the sheet. He flips around loads in bed and seems to get his sleeping bag all twisted which may be waking him?!
Sammie I have some cottage pie froze for Aiden so hope he likes it. He gagged on some chicken dinner my mum did for him on Sunday xxLittle Man born 11 March 2012 :smileyhea

Noah was about 21 weeks when I started weaning, maybe George is ready for weaning. I only started Noah off on 1 meal a day, he has been having 3 meals a day for just over a week now.
Just won a 6-12 month sleeping bag for 99p on eBay!! It still has the tags on!! :j

They're from Tesco Sunshine, I ordered them from the website for store delivery.
He kept crawling into the sides to start with, so I put the mats there, and they look nice so I think they can stay for now!
Katie, how long were you in Filey for? We were there Thursday.0 -
Just a quickie !
Turtlemoose - thanks hun, hope your niece is ok x
Gilly - you must know by now I'm too soft to do controlled crying:) Thanks for your advice though as it will suit some mums ! Still pondering bottle reduction at 12 months but have an idea lol
Sunshine - think the mats may be the elc ones I've got am sure aimless will let you in due course.
Aimless - love the den and incidentally you have given me an idea of how to stop Scott sticking hands through bars of gates for Dylan !! Now I need to dig out those mats !!
Jedi - that's a relief lol ! Just hope hubby likes it !
Weaning - with Scott (who is pur!e not blw) if I use meat I need to use less than I think in things like spag Bol, I up the veg/tomato and increase meat over time so I would do same with cottage pie. I was shocked the other day when I realised how much meat was in ready made Pouches ie less and I had been putting too much in Scott's meals hence lack of enthusiasm !
My brains died now so night all !0 -
Just went searching for those foam mats as can't find plain ones on mc and found articles saying Belgium has banned foam play mats because of a toxic chemical. Anyone know about this? :0 we have the mats but they are not down I used them outside in the summer !
Edit noticed elc alphabet ones are not suitable for babies due to small parts0 -

katie welcome back
Hope everyone had sleepy babies, I wonder if we are having the famous 4 month sleep regression, just a week early, cuz he was a little monster about going to bed last night, tears and screaming the moment he was put in the cot - not like him at all, eventually went to sleep about half 9 (he's normally snoozing by about 8).
Off to swimming now, but loaaaads of traffic, looks like we are going to be late and its only a half hour session, bit annoyed with myself for forgetting about rush hour ,I've only not worked for 4 months...by the time I go back to work my brain will be nothing but mush0
