Loooove the jumperoo too. Charlie is like a wild child in it, he loves it!!
xx
I have heard really good reviews on them and really wanted one. We bought a baby Einstein activity centre and he has recently started trying to bounce in it so now we have borrowed a jumperoo he can bounce until his heart is content!!
Regarding weaning Noah is doing great, he is such a little beast though and will eat anything!! He is defiantly not a fussy eater!
Ooh mozzy we have extended family over from south Africa at the moment!! My dp wanted to go on holiday there but they have told me loads of horror stories about certain parts and now I'm to scared to go!!

((( hugs ))) to those that need them.
I have so much respect for anyone who had given birth, I know birth is so different for everyone but I hope those still upset by theirs that those memories fade soon.
Sunshine - I said I would bore you with weaning
Scott started 3 meals about 3 weeks in. He started at 6 months, first week 1 meal, second week 2 meals and then 3 from week 3.
I used the baby chef a lot the first month, however since i had a cold/ flu (then hubby) just as he turned 7 months I have not used it as much, I can now mush his food with a fork and just whizz it a bit if it's meat/pasta etc. The texture is rough but not lumpy.
We are doing creamy porridge with some kind of fruit at breakfast I have cooked eg apples, pears etc. I have given him some pouches starting when I was ill and have carried on sometimes giving them at lunch time now but it's hit and miss. He hates plum ones but loves Ella's. I only give him chicken or veg as dont like any fish ones yet, I still feel guilty giving him them so try to do fresh if possible.
He Hates Ella's yoghurt but loves plums go figure lol!. As he is 7 months have expanded what he eats a bit, he has had salmon (pasta/broccoli/full fat philly), bread, cheese and our 'meals'.
I have also dug out the Panasonic bread maker (fab machine!!) as I can control salt etc in bread. He certainly liked it toasted with unsalted butter.
His tea I try to give him what we are having and mash/ whizz it, we are using the Heinz baby stock cubes a lot but I did like the sainsburys signature stock which is ok for salt (it's with stock cubes). Quite hard to think what to cook, but cooking a Sunday roast and retaining meat is so much easier. We are trying to give finger foods with his tea and hubby watches him like a hawk lol, he loved a fresh Yorkshire pudding !! He had a piece of peeled apple the number of times it went in and out lol !
Ella's send a good free weaning book if you sign up, couple of coupons etc.
I still use my ramekins a lot as they feel a good size and are not so easy to tip as they are heavy ones !
The tommy tippee bib (the roll one) is good but stains, I put a coverall underneath him too. I find that wiping him with warm damp cloths is better than wipes as they make his skin rubbish. We are getting somewhere with the doidy cup but he preferes a tommy tippee cup without the spout Attached so he can sip it. It's also easy to see when you tip it towards him as the sides are clear. Dont think I will worry about the spouts and just let him sip from the cups.
Anyway there's my weaning ramble lol hope you continue to get on well I'm happy with Scott just ambling along as its going to take a while for him to get his teeth through lol he's just starting with his first one !!!0 -

Hello everyone else

That's the reason we weren't going to buy one sunshine. Noah's activity centre is similar to what aiden has ( I'm sure it was you who posted a pic a while ago of it)
My house looks like a creche!! We have a graco sweet peace swing, jumperoo, baby Einstein entertainer, playmat with activity arch and another large playmat with soft toys attached to the mat all in the lounge!! We also have a large basket of rattles that I keep in his nursery but bring down in the day!!

Ah hun, its the same as any other country, you have your good and bad parts. It really does depend where you go. I'm from Durban (Natal) right along the coast.
You just have to have your wits about you, which after growing up there, just seems the norm really. I still a very cautious person over here too, just part of my day to day life now lol.
Where did you plan on going on holiday? Cape Town? xxDFD February 2012

Yeah Cape Town.
They said exactly the same as you, you have to have your wits about you. They said alot of people have guns and aren't afraid to use them and in certain areas you don't stop at a red light at night you just creep through and make sure there is no other traffic coming. I'm not sure what part they are from though I'll ask them again. Like you say though every country has its own problems I think we just get "use" to our own countries ways!!
