Hugs sunshine, im not sure what happened with your birth etc but good luck today and hopefully you will remember the feeling of happiness after having Aiden rather then the "upset" of what happened. As I say though I don't know what happened during your labour and birth I dont know how you are feeling I just wanted to send hugs.

Hugs sunshine, what Sammie said
. Hope it's not too bad, just try and focus on the positives that came out of it all. Easier said than done I know.
I think my monster has finally got himself for a nap, I tried for nearly an hour earlier but he was fighting to stay awake. Going to creep in and check on him. Then get tidying, got a to do list as long as my arm today. Shame I have zero motivation to get off the sofa.Newborn thread member

Sunshine have a dodgy hug :grouphug:
Katie I also have a massive to do list....but Reuben has been awake since 8 am and showing no signs of sleeping. He did nod off at the boob once but it lasted all of 3 mins before he was wide awake again. He's seriously tired so is grumpy and irritable....and so am I now!!
We bed shared again last night, he slept for 3hrs alone then 5 hrs with me. I don't want to bed share but it's soooo tempting when its so easy. Free access to boob means he doesn't even wake up and gets himself sorted meaning I can snooze on. I have such conflicting feelings about this!!0 -
I don't really have any advice on the co sleeping turtle, it's not something I ever considered and I'm lucky in that even if he wants feeding/changing 3-4 times a night he pretty much always puts himself back to sleep straight away afterwards, so its not really necessary for us. I think you're the only one that can decide, have you looked at one of the side car type cots for him that push right up to the side of your bed? I think one of the ladies on here has one, maybe dizzi?
George slept for all of 20 minutes, didn't even get one shirt ironed! But he's woken up in a pretty good mood and sat and gurgled at me while I finished the others.Newborn thread member

Sunshine - I feel incredibly angry when I watch the likes of OBEM and the music fades in and the baby's getting their first hug... and my fun going back to the hospital I've previously documented! (I've got to go to the ward next door to the one we were IN for an EPU scan in a couple of weeks and I'm dreading it massively)... the one thing I CAN stomach watching is the BBC midwife one - that's much more warts and all than OBEM which just gets me angry and bitter these days (plus the idiot woman who wanted all her contractions referred to as "surges" last week was just utter comedy material).
End of the day though - however craply she came out - I DO have the more awesome gorgeous baby than any of them! What I found DID help was to view it as a big "ner ner ner" to them - like "I'm back, my birth was crud and you viewed her as the property of the NHS - and now we're here and she's MY little girl and she's thriving so pooo to you hospital."
Been to baby group - as is usual... she fell asleep!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -

We don't have a proper side-car - it just turned out that our cot's height is the exact same one as our mattress so we could push them together (safer if you do the cot against the wall, bed against the cot - but we've got the high-tech method of the bed latts being tied together with my dressing gown cord under the mattresses)! Need the sidecar bit or we'd have no room in the bed at all - especially when the dogs decide to pile on as well and the baby likes to sleep completely splatted out as wide as possible!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Reuben also puts himself back to sleep in the night - that's probably why I feel guilty, I feel like I'm being lazy cuz I just like avoiding the risk of getting up every 2-3 hrs now that I know he will sleep longer with me. It's more of a treat for me to get a definite 5 hour block of sleep. I don't know, I guess I need to think about it some more.0

Turtle if it benefits you, it benefits baby!!! xxx
Dizzi I'm not going to discuss what happened on Mse but I had Jess by C section Friday afternoon and came home Saturday evening as I was disgusted with the hospital.
We paid over £27,000 on Ivf's and treatments, I really wished we had paid a few thousand more and had baby privately. Something I will always regret.
Better go comp xxx

Heh Toniq - I've said all along with this current pregnancy that the first thing I'm doing at booking in when I get my notes and writing on them on the front cover in big red pen "DO NOT SEND ME TO X HOSPITAL UNLESS COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY UNAVOIDABLE" and I'm also programming the PALS number into my mobile phone this time - no way am I taking the treatment I had last time this time.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0

Hello all
Thanks for your messagesSammie, it wasn't particularly awful but it was a long labour ending in epidural and ventouse and he wasn't breathing when he came out. I think my epidural was running low when they cut me/I tore and subsequently I couldn't hold him for a few hours as they were stitching me for a while and then I had a funny episode of being quite sick. Had to stay in overnight which wasn't great really.
Anyways...back now and it wasn't too bad at all. Mum just had to go to outpatients which is nowhere near the mat ward and she was in and out fairly quick. She even bought me a cake on the way out :j It didn't bring back any nasty memories really - Aiden was awake when we were there so I didn't really have time to think of anything bad.
Obviously my expeirence was nowhere near as bad as some of the ladies on here though. I hope you don't need to spend any time in the same hospital dizzi. And hugs to you toniq
I'm just going to grab some lunch and get Aiden to sleep and then I will be back later. I can smell something from his playmat too...
Oh, day 6 of the shred for me today - I have to say when I put my jeans on this morning they felt a little less tighter :j:j
Will catch up later xxxxxxLittle Man born 11 March 2012 :smileyhea
