Sunshine cannot tell you good things about day 2. It was definitely easier but I woke up in absolute agony today, I couldn't do anything. NO way I could have done it today. Went a run, just shy of 2 miles. Been out walking all afternoon, about 4 hours minus 30 minutes for lunch. I am so sore. Agony! x

O god lol. My legs are aching now :o

I'll try day two first thing in the morning. Well done on your run and walking though!

Hope everyone is well, monkey has just fallen asleep. He didn't eat his meal tonight, he refused his brocolli and potato but did eat some pear.

Will prob catch up later xxx

Katie he was sitting propped up on my feeding cushion, and he looked a little sleepy, but was awake. I put him in the cot, covered with a blanket I've been sleeping with for a few days so that it smells of me. He huffed a little and did a little nodding off...no I'm awake...nodding off...no I'm awake etc, but I just stayed still and quiet and he went to sleep. I stayed in there for fifteen mins just in case, but he'd gone! It was only the first time though so we'll have to see if we manage it any other days before I get too confident :o

Ellie is on diuretics but no oxygen at the moment. she is doing really well. they hope to repair the wholes through a catheter in her leg

Poppy is on diuretics as well, Spironolactone and Hydrochlorthiazide. The Consultant said they are working well for her.

The catheter in the leg sounds familiar, but I think the Cardiologist was slightly concerned about Poppy's leg veins as she had a long line in both her legs when in the NICU as she needed several blood transfusions. She said they could do a key hole procedure and Poppy should only be in hospital a couple of days.

Just put the border up in Poppy's room, its pink with butterflies and flowers, it looks sooo girly in there now, I would have loved a room like it when I was a little girl!

Off to have a stir fry now and watch the Soaps.

What's the baby whisperer's wake to sleep idea?

Morning, average night here, up twice. How Did everyone else get on?

Wake to sleep is (supposedly) meant to extend nap times - George wakes up after almost exactly 30 minutes every time at the moment and I just can't get him back off again, even if I feed him again. The idea is you go in just before the time they would normally wake and disturb them just enough so they sigh/move a little, not so they actually wake right up. Apparently when they wake up regularly its to do with going through the different phases of sleep, and the transitions can be difficult for babies to stay asleep through. So gently nudging them helps them get over the transition and settle down again. Or something like that! It's a bit like Russian roulette though, don't wake him enough and he'll wake himself up anyway but wake him too much and hes awake even sooner! I've done it once successfully so far.

As of last night George can roll on to his side! He hasn't quite made it over all the way to his tummy yet but he's getting there

  • Morning all :)

Katie, normal night here - he woke at 5:00 for a feed and did fall back to sleep till 7:20 but wouldn't go back down in the cot? Not a clue why but he ended up sleeping on me so I have been awake since then really :(

Baby whisperer sounds interesting, let us know if it works?

Just did 'The Shred' for day 2, I was very sore before I started so I am not sure if I gave it my all but at least I did it lol :oDefinately going to try and do it in the morning but depends how achey I am!

OH has gone into work for a few hours and Aiden is napping so might go and have a shower and get changed.

Have a good Saturday all xxx

Well I made a right idiot of myself on Thursday when Joseph had his first injections - we got into nurses room and before she could even explain what was going to happen I started to cry! It was blooming mortifying! :o Luckily they were very lovely about it...and Joseph screamed for precisely 3 seconds after each one and has been fine since! :D Got a big red lump on one of his legs though, I've googled it and it appears to be a normal occurance.

Feeling really good today as little man had an excellent nights sleep - 10pm until 7am - so feeling much more human! Have a lovely weekend all xx
