Probably did
Were all four CDs useful? Trying to decide between the 4 pack or just the pregnancy and birth ones!
Yes, i think so.. i used the PG and birth alot before she came, and the music one was useful during labour- couldnt be doing with the speaking during that, but having the music was soothing and reminded me to be calm and relaxed. The post birth was the only one i didnt listen to alot, just didnt have time, but its cheaper to buy all four as a set than just the three..Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Hey Rebekah
Go to your GP for a chat, or is your 6 week check booked? You can mention it there.
I didn't have pnd myself but did have a crying baby. I dreaded evenings too as Aiden had awful colic, plus reflux, but the colic made him scream at night for hours. Its so hard and we really struggled, do you think she may have colic or anything?
I think everything is such a whirlwind the first few weeks with visitors and sleep deprevation, that only once that has settled down do you actually start to realise the little person is all yours. Our first few weeks is such a blur to me now, I have to really think back to when he was tiny.
I hope you are ok and you can talk to your GP. Always come and chat to us, so many of us on here have had different issues with them as newborns xxx
Gilly-well done on day3! Did day2 here and I hurt lol. We are watching X Factor hereLittle Man born 11 March 2012 :smileyhea

Hi Rebekah,
I can only but agree with what is said. Please talk to your doctor or midwife about how you feel or do you have a good friend or family member that you can use as a sound board. On the very early days of my baby being home and absolutely exhausted I rang my mum in the middle of the night saying I couldn't cope and could she come and give me a hand. Just having her and my stepdad come over for 24hrs helped me and give me some confidence in what we were doing especially where the crying was concerned.
My baby is really unpredictable putting to bed, he can cry for hours and we did seriously think he had colic. Sometimes he'll sleep and others he wont. I'm breastfeeding him for most of the feeds and this some days feels like he is constantly at the boob so also know that 24/7 feeling. Everyone I have spoken to that has kids assures us that the first few weeks are the hardest but will get easier.
One thought that did come to mind, are you following any kind of routine? We did start the gina ford one from day 3 that he was home which we have since adapted and in our case found that this has helped as baby has started to settle a bit better.2025 financial goals & challenges!

Hello everyone, Just wondering how everyone is coping with their babies and the heat. Our poor little man's room is a sweltering 28oC right now! He's not a happy bunny at all. Hoping he'll sleep ok tonight.2025 financial goals & challenges!

Rebekah, Really hope you are okay, the tiredness really affected me in the early weeks xxxxxxxx
Clarissa my baby girl struggles with the heat immensley, I just leave her in a vest and nappy at the moment, It's way too hot for anything else, we do have summer grobags but she still creates if she is in them.
We don't use a fan as I wouldn't be able to settle knowing something electrical was on.but have the windows open and keep the bedroom door open for a through draft from other upstairs windows, which seems to help.
If Jess stirs or I wake up cold I pop her in a grobag

Hi ladies :-)
I had to come on here to share that Teddy went to sleep at 8pm last night (just in time for X factor, good boy!!) and has only just woken up for a feed!! 8 hours straight!! He's 8 weeks old on Monday and has never gone more than 3-4 hours at night, usually 8/9pm- midnight! Hubby reckons it's the heat and maybe hes right but I'm hoping it's not! Been doing the whole bath/bottle/bed routine for a week now and every night has got a little bit better so who knows?
Rebekah hun, I echo what everyone else says, go and see your gp of you feel really down. Those first few weeks are so bloody hard and no-one ever tells you! I hated the first 2weeks which I feel awful saying but I found it very difficult.....I would go through labour and birth a million times over rather than how I felt in the first week!! And I never, ever thought the sleep would get better. Teddy is such a hungry baby, I was up every 1.5-2 hours and like a zombie most days. I know everyone says it, and I never used to believe them, but it does get easier......every week it gets s tiny bit better. Big hugs for you and you can always come on here to talk. I don't get chance to post often, but the ladies here are so kind and helpful and between us all, we've probably been through everything!Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference0 -
Morning all
MrsB-thats fab news about Teddy sleeping! Fingers crossed its cracked it for you and it continues!
The heat didnt do great things for us, he didnt go down until 930 and woke at 530 and just now, I atleast thought going to bed an hour and a half later would mean he would sleep through the 530 feed but not my boy!
Giving him some porridge this morning as he enjoys his 'tea' now we are bumping up to 2 meals
Have a lovely day xxxxLittle Man born 11 March 2012 :smileyhea

Is this pnd? I seem to dread every night time when I wake from my afternoon nap now. Sundown signals the start of screaming more tierdness. On top of that I seem to be getting upset that I am only just beginning to really bond on a deep leveland enjoy my little girl and that at almost 5 weeks I have not really enjoyef much and feel guilty and a sense of loss. Guess i'm just feeling a bit weird and unsettlef inside.
You are not weird at all! I promise you that my lovely.
An instant bond is very over-rated.... There's a lot of pressure on expectant mothers to love their child as soon as they see them for the first time. You might have carried the child for a few months, but you've never really met them.
the point of exhaustion before giving you a little respite....
Dizzi's right, it's a huge taboo to say that you don't love your child. But how can you? You don't know anything about them.
This. A thousand times over. I will be really honest - I thought there was something wrong with me when I didn't get that immediate rush of love; all I could think about the stiching that was being done! I hated the first couple of weeks - noone can ever prepare you for the horrifc-ness of it. I used to resent J waking up and screaming and dread the nights. The worst thing was going to a baby group very early on and this lady (whose child is only a couple of days older than J) looking stunning and telling me how wonderful her life was now and now much she adored her baby - I felt like crawling under a rock.
However, something has clicked in the last couple of weeks and that bond is really coming along nicely - but it certainly has taken some time.
So I promise you that you're not alone xxxHi ladies :-)

Rebekah ican only echo what the others have said - speak to someone about how youre feeling, do you have a good health visitor or gp? Ive been diagnosed with pnd and prescribed anti depressants. I was scared of going to the doctor about it as I was scared of being labelled depressed, or that the doc would think I was a bad mum which is just nonsense! Having a baby is a huge upheaval and it takes time to adjust. I felt much much better after speaking to the doctor, even before I started taking the pills. Doesn't matter if you don't want to go into it on here but was the birth straight forward? I lost a lot of blood and I'm still seriously anaemic which was affecting my energy levels a lot so I'm also taking iron tablets. So it might be worth asking for a blood test too, as although the doc said sorting the anaemia wouldn't fix the depression I know being completely exhausted all the time makes it much harder to cope.
Anyway, hope you feel better soon, feel free to vent on here or you can pm me anytime.
In other news, George has been a complete monster so far today, hasn't slept since he woke up at 7 apart from dozing in the pram while we were at the carboot. Only got a couple of books for him but there were tons of toys and clothes. Tried to be sensible as he's only just starting to really pay attention to the toys he already has!Newborn thread member
