Jumperoos are fab. I'd get sooner rather than later, we used ours from around 13/14 weeks, but now he can crawl and cruise the furniture  my baby :( where has he gone, he isn't interested in it so it's been packed away for #2 :(

Morning all, rubbish night here, up twice and then up from 5.45. Shattered!

Im ok thanks ladies, just have up and down days with the pnd. And the last few days George hasn't napped for more than 30 minutes at a time and hasn't settled at bedtime so just feel like I haven't had a break. And then I feel awful for wanting a break from my baby :(

Anyway, hopefully will be back to normal before too long.

Re jumperoos Gillydid you start using yours when he was just able to hold his head up himself or was he sitting unaided too? Ours is sat in its box and I'm itching to get it out but don't want to push him too soon.

Katiechoc - lack of sleep can be a nightmare, Noah is generally a good sleeper but when we went away he woke through the night every night, sometimes 2-3 times and I was like a walking zombie by the end of it. You shouldn't feel awful for wanting baby to sleep longer in the day so you can have some time to yourself, that's only natural, I used to enjoy Noah having his afternoon nap when the boys were at school as it gave me a chance to actually drink a hot cup of tea without being disturbed!! :D

    Hi all!

Just to let everyone know, I've just received an email from Toys R Us with a code for 20% off from today until Sunday (20AUGE). Don't know if the voucher is on their website to download as normal or not, but thought this may help some of you.

ETA: Just been on the Toys R Us website and it says to use the code 20AUGH not E on the end, so either my email is wrong, or both will work for the 20% off.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Gilly - how old was Aaron when he started sitting up and crawling? Noah is 5 months on Monday so I want to know roughly when babies start sitting up etc as I can really remember with my boys.

Lol I think if he had the motor control, Reuben would insist on walking right now! The second you pick him up, his legs go down and he pushes really hard with his feet. If you support his body weight, he sort of bounces on his feet up and down, and gets really excited!! So cute :)

Apparently, pound for pound, babies are stronger than weight lifters. If Reuben were the size and weight of a weight lifter he'd smash the world record. Their legs are particularly strong which is why he can bounce on them. Freddie does too whilst yelping like a puppy. So cute. :)

I'm a bit confused about the head-holding thing. Freddie's six weeks and if I have him on my knee supporting his chest (like when I wind him) he holds his head up and has done since about three weeks. If something makes him move to either side, his head will wobble a bit but if he's still he holds it up perfectly well.

When does this become 'real' head-holding, i.e. I can put him to play on his front and he'll lift his head rather than lie with his nose pressed against the floor?

Fluff I've been told conflicting things about "tummy time". (there's a surprise!) I've had one health visitor say it should be from birth, another say from when they can hold their head while sitting, and another say from 3 months!! I use a cushion under Reuben's chest, so that even if he does decide to face-smash the floor, it's on something soft.

We got given this which is quite good, he sort of does mini press ups on it. I know when he's had enough as he either whines or just lays his head down and won't lift it any more. Sometimes he likes to play for 20 mins...sometimes 2 mins is enough for him.
