Had my hair cut when LO was about 6 weeks after previously having it done a week before my due date - made me feel so much better and less scruffy, I would definitely recommend it if you get the chance. Hubby was at home with LO as there wouldn't be any room for the pram at the hairdresser. I dye my hair myself at home, so have done that once too since she was born. I can just about cope with living in PJs and track suit bottoms and not having showered all day if at least my hair is decent-ish... :)

Mozzy, Kira- Have the solution. DH and I will childmind, gotta be better hours than here! Just started for the night. :)

Took Rose swimming today- she loved it. She's been with me before, but this was a mum & baby lesson and teaching them bits and pieces. Went really well (barring getting out of the shower, that was a howler!)

Katie- I'm full-time with close to 60 hours a week at times, depending on how busy we are, though it's not [particularly hard work. I also own a company (That sounds so much grander than in RL.....) which is photographic- though I generally ahve maybe 6 weddings a year atm.

I wouldn't be able to do that, except my MIL is great, and between all our own erratic schedules, Rose will never need childcare. Bound to be the odd day we get stuck, though.

Hair- mine's a disaster I think. Gillyx could give an honest opinion! It was waist-length and I cut it at 2 months, it still feels short, though it's halfway down my back again. It's a mix of colours, mainly from the sun..... Last time I whacked bits off myself with scissors. May need pro help this time.

Nutella - :rotfl: I know what you mean about baby brain!! I put my dirty washing in the tumble dryer a few weeks ago and wondered why it was still dirty but warm!!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: This made me laugh! Sounds like the sort of thing I could have done too - I normally don't even know what day it is! Just as well I'm not going back to work yet - I'm not sure I'd be able to have a grown up conversation about policies and strategies

Lirin - glad Rose enjoyed swimming, im hoping to get Noah used to the pool in Spain as it will be really warm then start taking him at least once a week when we get back. I think it is great for a child to get used to the water at an early age.

Nutella - When do you go back to work?

I don't want you all to go back to work, I won't have anyone to talk to on here. :( I do realise I'm lucky though as it must be hard leaving little ones.

Sammie, I'll be going back to work in February, so thankfully in quite a while, but I'm sure time will fly by... :(

Getting Noah used to the pool in Spain is a good idea, I'm sure he'll love it by the time you head home. Does he like having a bath? My LO was screaming her head off the first few times (when daddy had to do bath time as mummy was recovering from c-section and couldn't bend...;)) but now she loves it, so am hoping she'll like the pool too - am planning to take her in a couple of weeks. Very scared of trying on my pre-pregnancy swimming costume though!

My DSD learned to swim at 9 years, and hates it. We all learnt from birth, and love it. I'd be a big enough believer in starting as much as possible from as early as possible!

TBH, no, it was hard enough leaving Rose, but not unbearable. Just felt strange, as suddenly having adult conversations makes you realise how coccooned you are during maternity leave.

Ha it's me with the iPad, I love it! Really don't know what I'd do without it now.

Lirin- 60 hours a week???? Crikey, and a baby? You must be supermum!

We've just done bath time, he hates it with an absolute passion really screams the place down every time. Makes me nervous of taking him to the pool as it would be a nightmare if he's the same there. Any ideas on how to make it less stressful for him?

Katie- 60 hours, yes, but my job isn't stressful, just the timings- I'm pretty much awake now until sun morning, as I'm on nights!

I want an Ipad too. (Sulking)..... I never win one, despite entering loads of comps. I don't need one, I just want it now. :)

With Rose and the bath, I put her in gently- 'look! What's this? Wow! Oh you lucky girl, it's splish-splash-splosh time!'. When she's in I swoosh her from side to side, saying that- basically just messing! I encourage her to do 'kicky feet' (as it says on the tin) and to pretty much splash and destroy everything. Destruction seems to be the key!

The first few times I held her against me, pretty close and just kept it calm and easy, making out it's the most wonderous thing in the world... it is to her! Bubbles helped, now anything that can be thrown, kicked or splashed is in order.

Basically, I think my main gameplan to get baby on my side is to act like an idiot. The stupider I act, the more she loves it. Tad worrying, but seems to work. My parenting summed up in one paragraph....

    Hello all

Gosh Lirin, 60 hours! Im worrying how Ill manage 32, well done you! Do you take baby pics? Only ask cos we just spent a fortune on pictures, definately a good money maker!

Katie - Aiden hated baths up till about 3months, sometimes it helped if one of us bathed him with us but I think he just grew out of it and quite likes it now!
