Lirin, what did they teach you in your mum and baby lesson? Although I want to take LO swimming, I honestly have no idea what to expect! Bath time in your house sounds like fun :)

Katie, my LO hated having a bath the first few times, but grew to love it. What we do is the exact opposite of what Lirin does, so now you have two extremes to try :) In our house it's the beginning of bed time, so it's very calm - dimmed lights, quiet talking, slow. We use a baby bath with just a bit of water and a foam support thing in it so she's lying on a nice and soft surface and I wash her with a sponge and use a soft flannel on her face and hair (I do that bit last as she's not too keen!). Afterwards I wrap her in a hooded towel and have a cuddle - the bonus being that she automatically dries with no effort required. I then cover her in baby body lotion, do a bit of massage, put on a clean sleepsuit, feed her and put her to bed. Works for us - it really calms her down and makes her sleepy.

Hope George eventually learns to love his bath - I'm sure he will :)

Katiechoc - as Lirin has already said making bath time really fun usually works. I usually say thing to Noah like "who's a big boy in the bath" etc but it's the tone of our voices that makes them laugh, smile, splash etc. I probably sound like a total plonker if the bathroom window is open and my neighbours are in the garden though!!
Oh no just realised they might think I'm talking to dp when I say who's a big boy in the bath...............

    Hello
Anyway, re the sleeping. Sammie - he usually has a nap about 4pm, I know it isn't helping but sometimes I can't stop him as he gets so miserable and grouchy. Does anyone have any tips on how to keep them awake?!
Sometimes he falls back to sleep in the night on his own. He is a bit funny with a dummy, he only wants it when he is drifting off then spits it out.

Hi Sunshine - Charlie still sleeps almost every 2-3hrs. We try to keep him awake past 4pm until bedtime, but 99% of the time, he's just too tired (and grumpy!), so we just let him have a nap. Either way, we always follow the same routine, bath at 6pm, then bottle, then bed.
