Ooh amazing lie in, I'm jealous mozzy
Just having a little top up feed (like clockwork he hit 6 weeks old and has wanted feeding what feels like every 5mins, and he wants it NOW...I'm assuming growth spurt!), then we are off to the health centre for the first time. Bit nervous as not sure what to expect, but the 6 week check was pants, the doc didn't zero the scales before weighing him, and left his nappy on (which was wet)....and measured him and said "oh, 59cm, tall baby" and then wrote 58 in the book.......also after leaving I looked in the red book and there's a list of questions that he has ticked that I said "yes" to, but he didn't ask me any of them! So I want to pop down to the health centre and get him re-weighed and re-measured.
Sammie I think your mental image is probably right! Add in some sort of bodily fluid on clothing (pee, puke, snot or dribble... or maybe all 4?) and the image is complete LOL0 -
Childcare is horrifically expensive... Mine is similar to Mozzy. I've gone for a place right by work, who will offer 10% off if she does at least 3 full day sessions a week. So if i manage to convince work to let me go 4 days, we will be paying about £900a month- upto £1100 if i do 5 days. Eek.
If we have another, we will just be over break even with my salary and 2 lots of childcare, waiting till free childcare is risky as i'll be 40 by then...Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Errr. lol. A month. Dumb !!! me! Considering the vouchers, but if we are going for another, they deduct the vouchers from the amount of mat pay you get, but you dont get the vouchers while you are off. (which i think is wrong, but not sure i can persuade them that!).
Oh really? Didn't know that! I thought you still got them while you were off? I.e, we could claim them now and build them up?!
Think I need to look at my work places policy!
I badly need a hair cut. I have brown hair and would like blonde highlights put in, but will be time consuming and costly so may just go for a cut! xLittle Man born 11 March 2012 :smileyhea

Oh bless! Just had Erin lying on the lounge floor, and our big soppy dog came over, sniffed her and wandered off... two seconds later he reappears, having fetched one of his toys from his toy box and puts in on the floor beside her with a huge grin on his face!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0

You dont have to spend them as you get them, so you can save them to pay for childcare while you are off. Its a bit of a grey area but in theory they cant deduct from your mat pay if it takes you below a certain amount. Some places this means the company pays for your vouchers while you are off, but mine says you just dont get them. Which is off, cos they still work the mat pay out as though you did.
Grrrr.
Am lucky that my Stepmum is a hair dresser, so she is going to do my cut and an all over colour to hide my new Ahem, light bits. I normally take her some flowers or something nice to say thanks.Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Reading how much your child care is all going to cost makes me feel bad for complaining about working at home. Forget how lucky I am sometimes. Case in point - he's just fallen asleep on my knee but as I've got my iPad and a notebook app I can do a bit of work while still getting my cuddles
. And check what you ladies have been saying too, of course;). The best type of multi tasking!
I wish I knew a hairdresser, you're so lucky Kira! I might go next week when mums here to look after monster for an hour.Newborn thread member
