Hi all please can i join.

    Erinna arrived 3rd January at 11.38 weighing 7lb 4oz.

We had a horrible night last night. She was up 10.30-2.30. then 5.30-6.30I really didn't know what to do with her. I just seemed to be feeding, burping, changing nappy, then feeding etc. I find she goes to sleep whilst burping but then she does a poo so i change her but then she wakes up again. I did try and couple of times just cuddling her and rubbing her back then she would fall asleep but then she would wake up crying again.
Breast feeding is going well, she now weighs 7lb 1oz but even some newborn clothes are too big and newborn nappies seem big.
She slept again 7.15ish-8.30 had a feed then woke up again at 9.30 then went back to sleep until 12. Had a feed and is now asleep again.

What i'm thinking off doing is feeding her, winding her then nappy change, cuddle then moses basket. How long do you leave your baby to cry for?

Hi Bumpbuddy... I'll add you to the list. I'm still over on PG... fit to burst! Told you i would be the last of the three!

If you want a good book for reassurance, i've really been finding "Your baby week by week" a great read.. It does say the first week or so is all about responding to the baby as and when, and its too early for them to have routines, and just go with the flow...

Thanks Kira. I started to feel so bad that i didn't know what her crying meant.

Sorry your still not popped. I know you want to meet her but enjoy some rest and sleep whenever possible

Trying to rest, but everything is a bit uncomfortable to be effective!

RE: the crying, it did say at this age, crying is most likely food, as they are too young for boredom, and not aware of full nappies etc, so if in doubt feed, and if still crying, down for a nap..

Lauralou, my baby is 2 weeks old now and i have to say for the last 2 weeks i have been doing the same as you. baby cries i try and feed, burp check nappy etc completely guessing. she has started to give bigger clues now like sucking hand when hungry etc. just give it time and keep trying everything!

  • Lauralou - I haven't got anything much to add other than to agree with Jenjade. Hope things get easier for you soon :)

Kira - when is it that you're being induced? Have you had any twinges?

sorry jenjade crossed posts with you earlier, didnt want you to think i was being flippant. I echo what gilly and winnie said, i would be more than a little bit cross, what the hell does he think he's doing. Shall we all go and sort him out? a group of sore, sleep deprived, hormonal women would give him what for!

just had roos jabs, i cried :( could really do with a hug and OH is thousands of miles away :(

Going in to be induced on Weds. Having mad nesting and cooking urges today, but more interestingly had some show last night and been losing my plug today (gross!). Watch this space, but dont think its going to be that quick somehow!!

Sending a huge hug Missymoo :grouphug: have you got some Calpol in just in case he needs it?

Kira - sounds like things might be starting to move, but having said that, I had my show nearly two weeks before he arrived lol
