    Morning all :j

Crabapple - hope LO continues to be ok, I must admit we were glad don't have anymore for quite a while. Scott slept off his last lot which was good.

Mozzy - I know you struggled with charlie and I know it must be so upsetting going back to work. Don't let the thought of work ruin your ml, he is such a gorgeous boy hopefully if we have good weather you can play with Charlie a lot. Have you tried being apart yet leaving hubby in charge? I think a while ago you said you hadn't. I leave Scott to go out to the shops at the weekend quite often and I know that he looks after him well so don't worry if you know what I mean. I want to get Scott's paddling pool out again soon the Argos bargain one :D it is hot but breezy today thank god! Charlie must have cooked in his room bless him you must be south facing to get so hot :0
    Hope everyone is well !!

It was morning when I started typing but Dylan Was barking  hurry up mother !!! Lol

    HI

Wow, quiet here today, hope everyone is ok!

Ro - you're right, we are South Facing. It really does get so hot poor little soul. I've got a 0.5tog grobag, and he just wears a short sleeve bodysuit. Seems ok like that. Plus he has a fan in his room.
Well, he's only been away from me twice, once when i was at the doctors for 30min, and the other when I was sleeping, and dh took him with him to the bank in the morning. But besides from that, i've always been with him.

So has Dylan gone now? Must be so quiet haha. How is little Scott doing? My bib came from Tesco.......a bloody pink one!!! I swiftly sent it back. How annoying when the one they advertise is yellow, and there isn't even colour choices, just yellow!! My boy is not having a pink bib haha!!

Crabapple - we had our last ones a few weeks ago and share your enthusiasm that they are now over!!! We didn't have an option, they went straight in the legs. Breaks your heart doesn't it!!! Hope lo is ok!!

Dizzi - glad you getting help hun, and someone to talk to. I really hope it helps.

I was thinking back to my experience and think i'm now ready to ask for my notes if I can get them. If i'm ever to have another, I want to understand more of what went on, if you know what i'm saying......

I called my hospital to ask about my notes - the lady I spoke to said 'we keep your notes and give you a baby in exchange'! :rotfl:I had to admit that was a pretty good deal... But: it's your right to get a copy of your notes. I was advised to request them through PALS - it may or may not be the same at other hospitals.

    Morning :)

Mozzy - hope you enjoy your bbqs, I am sure that your friends girl will love her dress ! I hope you get some closure on the birth if you get your notes. I am sort of curious but don't think I will do anything as I don't think we will be having another child. Too scared of having another mc or something being wrong with another baby, have pcos anyway and feel lucky to have scott. I am overweight and were asked so many times if we had assistance to have Scott and they were always surprised that we didnt so think we will always be thankful to have him. I know your a great mum to Charlie so hopefully getting over the birth thing will mean you will feel more comfortable going for another but obviously not yet :D I thought Charlie had been with you most of the time might make it easier for later on if hubby takes him out more but feel free to ignore me I am a bit annoying sometimes lol !!:rotfl:

Got loads to do today as rellies coming tomorrow so need to tidy, get food in and work out where the cotbed is going to go as decided because he is starting to look crampt in the pram want to use the cotbed for daytime naps as off the ground from Dylan. The rellies are bringing the cot bed  tomorrow.Scott still has room in his crib for now upstairs.

Incidentally I here Katie is divorcing Tom  probably a good thing he is a little weird

Have a good weekend all xx

    Hello all!

Sorry to just drop in - flitting over from the pregnancy thread, as trying to think through the things we'll need for the nursery, and realised that we only have one fitted cotbed sheet in the bedding bundle we got from babies r us. How many sheets do you all have, and can anyone recommend the best place to buy some?

Also, which baby monitors do you use, as trying to make a decision on those too?

Many thanks in advance for answering my questions. Looking forward to joining you all properly in a couple of months.

Sexymouse - ours were more arkward to find since we had a normal size cot - but I got them from Dunelm Mill (mainly cos I love love love one of their nursery ranges so was in there a lot anyway)

With the jabs thing - Erin's got her next lot this week and, apart from the sideefffects risk (I'm still in two minds about MMR particularly but don't really have the options to object for fear of social services), I was fine about them - but I've seen her jabbed so many times by doctors for various things I think I'm kind of numbed to it by now (although I did cheer her on when she slapped a doctor taking blood while in the hospital)... which I guess is quite sad really.

Mind you after her 8 week ones she just sat and practiced smiling in her pushchair!

With the notes - I was tipped off by my midwife that "next time I come I'll be taking your notes away to go into storage, if they accidentally fall onto a photocopier it might be a good idea" - but she knew I was in the mind to prepare a complaint - so I have all of mine scanned in and saved on PC.

    Hi Sexymouse

Just a quick one I'm afraid, guests are arriving soon! lol

We have 4 of everything, just got 2 cotbed bundles from Mothercare. I just went for blue.

Monitor - we got the BT Monitor and Pacifier. It's absolutely fab. Great tunes, plus foes a starry light show on the ceiling. The quality is excellent too!

Hope everyone is having a fab day! xx

    Hi all.

Munchkin gave me a scare last night. She had a bit of a temp in the day which happened after all her jabs, had a bit of calpol but seemed fine in herself. Then she woke up about 11 and felt cold and clammy, temp was a degree down from normal and I was panicking (DH was snoring next to me even after I said I was worried - my adrenaline kicked in). Did skin to skin with her for quite a while to little effect then kicked DH out of bed to run her a bath. Kept checking temp and it was finally rising so I got to sleep gone 2, and she has been fine today thank goodness. Especially as we had a family event to go to and she has been passed around like a parcel with family and friends and smiled at everyone!!

I planned to copy my notes and didn't get round to it. I might ask for a copy at some point, we are entitled to have them although they can charge a small admin fee to provide. In my case it is more for curiosity sake as I fortunately did not have a horrible time or any useless or uncaring staff involved with the birth. I do want to sit with DH at some point soon and write a birth story to keep for the future as I'm sure I will forget things (probably already have!).

Dizzi - you made me think that they were quite keen on sticking needles in dd when she was in - she had a low temp early on (god knows how it was so damn hot in the maternity ward) and for some stupid reason they thought they should take regular heel bloods to make sure her blood sugar wasn't low. This was on day 1 when the poor little babber had barely fed and was still dealing with the surprise of the outside world. Thankfully they forgot about it pretty quickly and I didn't remind them.

Sexymouse, I think we had quite a few sheets but most were given to us second hand, we bought two. 3/4 would seem about right unless you have a really sicky baby or one that wets through everything! Make sure to get a waterproof sheet for underneath.
We have a baby monitor in the cupboard. I honestly cannot tell you what brand it is - hasn't come out of the box yet! - therefore couldn't recommend either. Munchkin naps downstairs during the day so we can see her, and in her cot in our room at night, but if we are away from her we live in such a small house that we can hear her pretty quick.
