Hi all,
I'm normally more of a lurker than a poster but was just wondering if those of you who have bought cot wedges for your babies to help with reflux could tell me where you purchased them? I need to buy two for my twins who are both suffering from reflux.
Thanks
Hi, Yes, i have a wedge for my little girl. There are different heights, depending on how badly they are suffering. If you go for a steep wedge, you will need a sling/harness of some type to hold them in place and not slide down. If your LO's are BF, then you may have only been offered ranitidine which neutralises the acid, but doesnt help with stopping the liquid come up, which means you may need the steeper one. Bottle fed babies tend to be offered thickeners, so there is less coming up, and a shallower wedge works.
I actually managed to get a wedge and sling on ebay from someone whose lo didnt need them. If you dont find anything there, then i would recommend this site : http://www.babyreflux.co.uk
The positioner we use with the wedge is a snooozz wrap, and the wedge we have is the ultralift wedge.
Hope that helps. Please ask if you need more help.Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Nice to see hear how you are going nutella !! 6 weeks! They are so cute if a little noisy at times lol x
Also Re advance bottle prep I do as Mozzy does and also use powder pots so milk powder is pre-measured (don't need to sterilise them) I have several, boots do them, tommy tippee do individual ones eg

Hello all right I am rising from the couch lol xx0 -
What I do with the bottle making is to have a jug in the fridge of cooled boiled water, and a thermos of fairly recently boiled water (I tend to replace this whenever I go to make a cuppa throughout the day so it stays above 70 degrees) - I put half the amount of feed I need in of hot water from the thermos, then the powder (keeping an eye on how much this makes the water level rise above what I'd put in), then the remainder of cold boiled water from the fridge PLUS whatever amount the powder made the level rise - fiddle about slightly with the hot/cold ratio to get to what works for you but it's easier than having to anticipate exactly when a bottle will be needed, and as long as the flask water's hot enough it means you still get the milk powder into hot water to kill any potential nasties action going on.
When the flask water's cooled down too much to use... gets used to wash the bottles up in!
I conceeded defeat with my much-loathed pushchair today - fluttered eyelashes at hubby and got an iCandy. Soooooo much nicer to push.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
